Guest guest
My assistants and I are very pleased to announce that your faxes, calls and emails to the prosecutor's office made a difference in the Daniel Bruce House case. The additional contacts from the HSUS, ASPCA I believe, and other animal groups also I am sure helped this along. The NEW trial date is FEBRUARY 15th, and he is still held in jail on now a $350,000 bail. For those who may not recall, a zoophile and roadside carrot salesman by the name of: Daniel Bruce House, was arrested twice for sexually abusing horses in Agoura California. He was out on bail the first time when he was caught the second time for the same offense and at the same stable! Mr House claimed he never forced the animals and they " consented " , yet the horses had rope burn marks, bruises, internal injuries and other injuries. One gelding died subsequently. The prosecutor took the advice for court ordered psychiatric treatment AND prohibition from having animals! For a scanned Los Angeles Sheriff Dept complaint form, a newspaper clipping an d House's photo as he was placed into the polce car in handcuffs appears on my web site for the case located at: http://members.xoom.com/pro4animal/house.html It is my concern that when he is eventually released he may re-locate and re-offend, the animals he attacks could be YOURS or your neighbor's. Obtain his photo, description and details and keep them for future reference. Thank you to everyone who helped and I will ost the sentence that was given as soon as I obtain the information. House, SA 036279 Thank you for your recent E-Mail concerning the Daniel House case. I am the prosecutor who is handling it. Because of the large number of inquires, I am sending this letter to all who have sent E-Mail. This office has and will continue to take this case very seriously. The amended complaint in the case charges six counts of felony animal cruelty and six counts of sexual assault of an animal. The defendant is being held in custody in lieu of $350,000 bail since last June. The preliminary hearing is set for February 15, 2000. Since his arrest, the defendant has been examined by two psychiatrists. While it would be improper to discuss the terms of case settlement discussions, upon any conviction in this case, we will seek court ordered treatment for the defendant's condition. Further, we will also seek an order that the defendant not have any contact with animals. Thank you again for expressing your interest in and concern about the outcome of this case.
