VERY URGENT,

WRITE TO U.S. PRESIDENT BUSH AND CONGRESS TO STOP "RMS" AND COMMERCIAL WHALING NOW !!!!!Dear Friend of animals, It is extremely URGENT that we all send a letter tothe President , the Commerce Secretary and other cabinet right now.We have enclosed the SAMPLE LETTER conveniently for you.(You may write your own style of letter). Please use COPY and PASTE our sample letter into your letter toPresident Bush and Secretary of Commerce etc. The Contact infois at the end of the Sample letter. Remember :1: To address to the right person !!! eg. : Dear Mr. President, Dear Honorable Secretary of Commerce, Dear Senator, ....etc.2: At the end of letter , write down your Name, Address, City, State, and YOUR COUNTRY . Thanks so much for your urgent action for Whales Plight.Citizens concerns.=================================== (Sample Letter Starts: you may choose to write your own style of letter if you choose to. )---------------RE:PLEASE, OPPOSE RMS AND COMMERCIAL WHALING.PLEASE IMPOSE TRADE SANCTIONS ON JAPAN , NORWAY.Dear Mr. President, The IWC (International Whaling Commission) is having an intensemeeting at Monaco right now , Feb. 7 and Feb. 8 , 2001 to discussRMS (Revised Management Scheme) for RESUMPTION OFCOMMERCIAL WHALING which has been pressed especially byJapan and Norway to have RMS . Norwegian government has announced that it will approve theexport of minke whale blubber and meat just a couple of weeksbefore this IWC special meeting in Monaco. The country actuallyresumed commercial whaling in 1993 and has announced its intentionsto kill upwards of 2000 whales each year. (see Reference # 1(a) ) THE EXPLOSIVE HARPOONS FIRED INTO THE BRAIN WITH VIDEOS SHOWING MINKE WHALES "THRASHING IN BLOODY WATER" FOR UP TO 20 MINUTES BEFORE DYING .......... The Japan and Norway have skirted via legal loopholes. Two countries killed more than 1000 whales(mostly Minke whales)last year. Japan created a "Scientific" whaling program, and itsfleet annually kills hundreds of whales . Then the meat and blubber aresold at a high price on the domestic market. In year 2000, Japankilled not only minke whales but also very endangered SPERM andBRYDE'S WHALES. (see Reference # 5, # 6 and # 1 ) Any "trade" would be disastrous for whales around the world. Moreover, Norwegian trade would provide the cover for piratewhalers who catch all species regardless of how rare they are.In 1983 MINKE WHALES were included in Appendix I of theConvention on International Trade in Endangered Species of WildFauna and Flora (CITES). This designation BANS internationalcommercial trade in an agreed list of endangered species.(see Greenpeace Reference # 4 ) Norway and Japan barbaric and cruel behavior is truly horrifyingand absolutely un-acceptable for any human being. So far, there isNO ANY KIND OF MEANINGFUL PENALTY to both barbariccountries. The IWC has NO POLICING POWER whatsoever. The situation is extremely URGENT, PLEASE , we are urging youthe following THREE URGENT Pleas :1: Immediately CLEARLY TELL THE WORLD U.S. STRONG OPPOSITION TO COMMERCIAL WHALING and RMS (The Revised Management Scheme). Briefly , the RMS aims to establish a set of rules that would be used if the IWC agreed to allow countries to hunt whales for commercial purposes again. (see Reference # 1 (b) and # 2 (a) ). Currently, in IWC Special meeting in Monaco, Japan, Norway, the US, Peru and others are urged to give up and follow the example of already 14 countries (i.a. Germany, Great Britain, and France), who protested against the trial to revive commercial whaling through the RMS scam. It is a shame that US is supposed to be the strongest leader in the world to lead all of the Anti-whaling countries to oppose the commercial whaling has so far did not express it's clear message

on its ANTI-WHALING position ! All of the Anti-Whaling countries

are looking up to the United States. PLEASE, U.S. MUST SHOW

THE WORLD ITS LEADING POSITION IN ANTI-WHALING AGAIN!

2: PLEASE , IMPOSE TRADE SANCTIONS AGAINST JAPAN AND NORWAY . This is to show to the American people and World that US President is taking seriously the plight of the World's WHALES.

By imposing TRADE SANCTIONS against Japan and Norway. The US President can send the strongest message to Japan, Norway

that the United States and the majority of the world's nations want to END TO COMMERCIAL WHALING. (see Reference # 1 © ) Paul Watson, a most authoritative world expert on Whales issues and the President of Sea Shepherd International , He urged President George W. Bush : "There should be no more negotiations, meetings, warnings, or pleadings ---the last eight years have conclusively demonstrated one thing : Such tactics do nothing but make the situation worse. Norway is saying, 'I dare you' to the BUSH Administration, and with any luck they have finally supplied the rope with which to hang themselves. SANCTIONS NOW, MR. PRESIDENT. " (see Reference # 2 and # 3).3 : PLEASE OPPOSE A PERMANENT JAPANESE SEAT ON THE U.N. SECURITY COUNCIL : All conservation societies including GREENPEACE and HSUS believe that a nation which undermines an international conservation treaty is NOT a suitable candidate for a permanent seat on the UN SECURITY COUNCIL. (see Reference # 4 ) At this most dangerous , critical time for world giant sentientWhales, We would be very grateful to you for your kindness, compassion and urgent help for Whales Plight in the world.Sincerely Yours, your name, your address,City, State,COUNTRY.IMPORTANT REFEERENCES :1: (a) http://www.hsus.org/specials/whaling/index.html (b) http://www.hsus.org/specials/whaling/rms.html © http://www.hsus.org/specials/whaling/solutions.html (d) http://www.hsus.org/specials/whaling/intro.html2 : (a) http://www.seashepherd.org/rms/index.html "STOP REVISED MANAGEMENT SCHEME ".
