PLEASE OPPOSE H.R. 601

 

OPPOSE TUNING OUR NATIONAL MONUMENTS TO

BLOODY KILLING FIELDS FOR HUNTERS !!!

 

 

The hunters want to restore hunting to a popular National Monument

in south central Idaho. Representative Mike Simpson (R-ID) has

sponsored H.R. 601, a bill that would restore hunting on the

661,000-acre Craters of the Moon National Monument.

This federal land holding had been a favorite hunting site for years

before the closure.

 

The Subcommittee on National Parks, Recreation and Public Lands

heard testimony regarding plans to restore hunting at Craters of the

Moon in mid-March. The bill has the support of House Resources

Committee Chairman Jim Hansen (R-UT) who has launched

a grassroots review of all of the Clinton monuments.

 

 

NOW, Let's Educate and Write to the Congress to urge them to

OPPOSE H.R. 601. (Note: this is a very important opportunity

that we all write to educate entire Congress on the cruel Hunting issue.)

1: First of all , there are many ways to learn about nature and the

" out-of-doors. " At its best, hunting teaches people that it is okay to kill

wildlife while learning about some aspects of nature. However, the very

essence of sport hunting is the implicit message that it is tolerable

recreation to KILL to take the life of others as a fun lifestyle and to

accept the maiming of wildlife. The Guns, Arrows and Bows, Knifes,

Leghold Traps are used in general hunting in the United States.

These are extremely cruel weapons to KILL. The MORALITY and

ANIMAL CRUELTY are the biggest concerns in the American hunting

which kills nearly 400 millions of wildlife each year in the United States

alone. Animals are Sentient. Millions of wildlife killed had made their

youngsters become orphans. They usually depressed, suffered and

starved and can not survive after their parents killed. There are

numerous documents stated that the killing of animals are very much

connected with the violence to the humans too.

 

It is folly to suggest that we can teach love, respect and appreciation

for nature and the environment through such cruel and needless destruction

of wildlife. One can learn about nature by venturing into the woods with

binoculars, a camera, a walking stick, or simply with our eyes and ears

open and enjoy the beauty of the world around us.

2: Secondly, a National Monument establishes the purpose of the

National Monuments as protecting and restoring the region's scientific

and historic values, including wildlife, wildness, remoteness and

ecological integrity.

 

Out of some 18,000 species and subspecies around the globe

examined so far by the scientists in year 2000, there are 11,046 plants and

animals risk disappearing forever, according to the most comprehensive

analysis of global conservation ever undertaken, reported by the

World Conservation Union's 2000 Red List of Threatened Species .

Conservationists estimate that the current extinction rate is

1,000 to 10,000 times higher than it should be under natural conditions.

THE PRIMARY REASON : HUMANS. EVERYTHING FROM

EXPANDING CITIES TO DEFORESTATION, AGRICULTURE ,

FISHING and HUNTING pose a significant threat to the planet's

" Biodiversity " .

 

Protecting and conserving those special national lands is something

we owe to the past, present and future. The beauty and peace of

the National Monuments are conserved for all of the Americans

and its thousands of generations to come to enjoy.

 

3: Not only we urge you to fully support all of the National Monuments

designated by all of the previous leaders, but also we strongly urge you

to EXPAND and DESIGNATE MORE of the Federal land to

National Monuments so that to prevent any commercial and human

encroachment.

 

Americans should never turn any of those beautiful, peaceful

National Monuments to the bloody killing fields . Again, we therefore

strongly urge you to OPPOSE H.R. 601, sponsored by

Rep. Michael Simpson, which allow the hunters to access the

federal lands to kill animals on the 661,000-acre Craters of the Moon

National Monument in IDAHO .
