(5/4/2001) There are 4 important issues in this email : 1: Help SB 1724, Texas Animal Cruelty Bill. 2: Explain to WASHINGTON POST about IBP CRUELTY. 3: Advise companies to stop supporting Animal test cruelty. 4: Email to Burger King CEO. Note: All 4 different issues are separated with " @@@@@@ " . thanks. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ 1: Please help SB 1724, Texas Animal Cruelty Bill. Dear Caring Friend , You have helped HB 653 to get the hearing and to get voted favorably out of the Texas House Jurisprudence Committee. The bill calls for a state jail felony for torturing or killing an animal the first offense. (However, this bill does not include Farm Animals and Wildlife killed by the hunters.) It is still a long long way to go to help billions of so called " food animals " . The slaughterhouses continue to skin animals alive and burn and drown pigs alive to death ! Anyway, now we do need to push the companion bill to HB 653, Senate Bill 1724 , authored by Texas Senator David Cain. Please call ALL Texas Senators and insist that they SUPPORT & VOTE SB1724 Favorably out of the committee. Please call on May 4(Friday), May 5(Saturday), May 7(Monday), 2001 All of the Telephone number listed below: (Be Polite, Please) Senator Teel Bivins.......512-463-0131 Senator Todd Staples...512-463-0103 Senator Mike Moncrief..512-463-0112 Senator John Whitmire..512-463-0115 Senator Ken Armbrister: 512-463-0118, 512-475-3736 (fax) Senator Steve Ogden: 512- 463-0105 Senator Royce West : 512 463-0123 Thanks. Be Polite and Thankful to them. The Washington Post printed a letter from the CEO of the IBP animal slaughter business responding to the article exposing cruelty to animals at IBP. The letter tried to Deny the undercover footage that showed conscious, terrified animals being dismembered in a IBP plant. Please write today and reference the letter from IBP : May 3rd date and title of the IBP Letter : " Handling Livestock With Care Thursday, May 3, 2001; Page A20 " . THE KEY POINTS IN YOUR LETTER : (you may write your own letter if you wish. ) a: Explain that article " They Die Piece by Piece " by Joby Warrick who did an excellent job of exposing the truth of the cruel meat industry. And it is one of the BEST articles you ever read . b: The abuse cited in the article was well documented and people who care about animals are turning their backs on the very cruel meat industry by choosing a vegetarian diet that is better for the animals, human health, and the environment. c: The former Secretary of Agriculture Dan Glickman conceded on Feb 11, 1999 when he was interviewed by C-Span that the Humane Slaughter Act is NOT enforced ! d: Please ask Washington Post to do more investigation on such important national issue. The public has the rights to know the truth. PLEASE BE VERY POLITE AND KIND WHEN WRITE TO THEM. (The References Source : http://www.shacusa.net ) @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ 4: Please send a note to Burger King CEO : Please send emails to Burger King CEO that You are politely demanding Burger King to have : A: constant " Un-announced " Audits to all of its meat suppliers' Slaughterhouses . B: Un-announced Audit to the slaughterhouses must be performed by the outside animal welfare groups and animal rights groups in order to be trustworthy. Otherwise , no matter what kind audit would be cheating, fraudulent and false information as it has been for the entire history of the meat industry and it is only a " paper " audit and a public relation for a " show " as many of the USDA officers admit! The former Secretary of Agriculture Dan Glickman conceded on Feb 11, 1999 that the Humane Slaughter Act is NOT enforced ! Explain to them without the people whose purpose is to protect animals to do the un-announced audit, the slaughterhouses companies would corrupt and continue to skin millions of cattle alive and dump the live pigs into the nearly boiling water to drown them and burn them to death despite animals screaming and desperate struggling ! Workers are so used to see these and do not do anything to help. Burger King CEO John Dasburg Email: JDasburg (@whopper.com ) Also email to Mr. Rob Doughty, the V-P for public relations Email: RDoughty (@whopper.com ) - <murderking CEO John Dasburg's email address.
