VERY URGENT, YOUR HELP WILL TURN THE TIDE !

June 4, 2001

Dear Caring friend,

We have three important campaigns in this letter .

Your help is absolutely needed to turn the bloodshed to PEACE.

Thanks so much for your kindness, caring and urgent help.

Each campaign is separated with " @@@@@ " .

Thanks again.

=====================================

Summary of the campaigns in this email :

1: SEND an important letter to all of the IWC

(International Whaling Commission) Delegates urgently .

2: An OPPORTUNITY to broadcast Caribbean Island Countries

killing large number of whales . It needs your help, now !.

3: PUBLIC COMMENTS on Groundfish Fishery in the North Pacific .

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

CAMPAIGN # 1 :

SEND AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL IWC DELEGATES :

In just about one month, the International Whaling commission

(IWC) will meet in London (July 2001). On the table are a series

of proposals to re-introduce legal, sanctioned

COMMERCIAL WHALING.

The Revised Management Scheme(RMS) is being pushed forward

like a multi-lateral trade agreement: A proposal with vast global

ramifications is being advanced with minimal public awareness,

and no public input.

It is urgent to Write, Fax , Phone and E-mail to all IWC Commissioners

(excluding Japan, Norway ) :

THE KEY POINTS in the letter to IWC Commissioners :

(You may write your own letter and/or merge our Points.

If you write your own letter, do not forget the Key Points.)

1: Tell them you demand IWC Commissioners to refuse to agree to

ANY discussion of the RMP / RMS at the London (or beyond)

International Whaling Commission(IWC) meeting.

Pushing the Revised Management Scheme(RMS) at this time

is a bad idea and bad strategy which fits Japanese and Norwegian plot.

2: Tell all of the IWC Commissioners that the only acceptable form

of the IWC meeting is to KEEP THE AGREEMENT OF IWC

FIFTY-YEAR(50 YEAR) MORATORIUM ON WHALING .

All whales are endangered including Minke whales which listed in

the Appendix I of the CITES.

3: Please STOP the following three IWC LOOPHOLES urgently :

a: IWC allows whaling for " science " . Japan uses this loophole

to kill massive number of whales.

b: IWC also allows members to officially " object " to the

convention's provisions, and to then use those objections to ignore

the intent of the majority members. Norway has filed an " objection "

with the IWC in regards to the international body's commercial

whaling ban, and continues to kill massive number of minke whales

which are in CITES Endangered species list.

c: IWC also allows Japanese conspiracy to " buy " many

other island countries(including Caribbean Countries and Africa )

into IWC to override the whaling moratorium.

PLEASE STOP ALL OF THE ABOVE THREE BIG LOOPHOLES.

4: The RMP, RMS has NO enforcement power , NO ability to

ensure compliance and NO science either. It is another name

for " legalized commercial whaling " !

Please refer( click) to sites for more details :

http://www.seashepherd.org/rms/index.html

5: If IWC allows the sadistic, bloody commercial whaling to be

resumed, we will advise all of our friends, members to stop

buying any products and services from all of the IWC countries.

We will also advise all of our members to stop traveling to any of

the IWC countries for tourism, especially the countries being

bought into the IWC to vote for commercial whaling.

6: You may include the final note in your letter (optional) :

Ask Commissioners to click the following to listen to the

desperate Plea from Whale mother and her baby...... :

7: Please Do not forget to put your Name, City and Country

at the end of all of your letters !

postage first before sending your important letter.

CAMPAIGN # 2 :

AN OPPORTUNITY TO BROADCAST CARIBBEAN

ISLAND COUNTRIES KILLING LARGE NUMBER

OF WHALES . IT NEEDS YOUR HELP .

Vote for the Whales

We have a rather unique opportunity in front of us.

We have been given the opportunity to broadcast the plight of the

Caribbean whales and the Revised Management Scheme on an

hour long program on A & E. But we need your help.

If you feel the issue of the Caribbean whales needs to be broadcast

to the general public please send an email to:

urtvsubmissions (@ultimatereality.tv )

and simply state that you VOTE FOR : " Carnage in the Caribbean. "

Most people I talk to don't know about the Revised Management

Scheme (returning the world to commercial whaling) or

reply, " They kill whales in the Caribbean?? "

We need to educate the general public that commercial whaling is

coming back and hundreds of whales and dolphins die each year

in the Caribbean.

As always, thank you for all you are doing to keep the whales alive

and well !!

CAMPAIGN # 3 :

PUBLIC COMMENTS :

Groundfish Fishery in the North Pacific .

The U.S. National Marine Fisheries Service(NMFS) is currently

seeking Public Comments on a draft comprehensive EIS for the

groundfish fishery in the North Pacific, one of the richest and most

productive ecosystems on earth including over 50% of the

United States fisheries.

Alaska's oceans are home to one of the richest assemblages of marine

mammals including harbor seals, otters and well as the now endangered

Steller sea lion. Some of the world's largest breeding colonies of

kittiwakes, murres and puffins depend on Alaska waters. These

tremendous populations of wildlife rely on fish, especially groundfish,

to survive. As with the Steller sea lions, other species in the

Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska that rely on groundfish are in decline.

These declines coincide with one of the world's largest groundfish

trawl fisheries.

WHAT YOU CAN DO ?

The following are the KEY POINTS for your convenience :

SUBJECT: Comments on Groundfish fishery in the North Pacific

1: An integrated Healthy Oceans alternative is urgently needed to

protect all the important components of the ecosystem.

2: NMFS piecemeal species-by-species approach will result in

a collapse of both our nation's fisheries and the ocean creatures that

depend on them.

40 million metric tons of pollock were removed the eastern Bering

Sea over the last 3 decades -- the largest single-species fishery in the

world. Declining pollock biomass in the Bering Sea and the Gulf over

the last 20 years has resulted in an ever rising catch of younger fish,

a warning sign of collapse.

NMFS' 1993 study showed that the western population of

sea lions likely will be extinct in less than 100 years. The reason is

" OVERFISHING " behind the Alaskan industrial fishing industry and

the Fisheries Management Councils.

Bottom trawling in the Gulf of Alaska and the Bering Sea must

be phased out entirely if NMFS is to obey the mandate of

Magnuson-Stevens, adhere to its stated long-term goal, and prove

its proclaimed devotion to the precautionary principle.

3: Tell NMFS that fisheries management in Alaska and around the

United States must be reformed to:

Set conservative fishing quotas;

Assure abundance of marine food for wildlife;

Provide truly sustainable fisheries for families whose gear

and practices are light on habitat and minimize bycatch;

Ensure a subsistence way of life for indigenous people;

Ban bottom trawling in sensitive habits and set aside identified

regeneration zones for fish and wildlife.
