Guest guest
I am trying to start a national campaign to get people to hold little demonstrations outside their movie theatre when " The Day After Tomorrow " comes out May 28th to urge the movie theatres or the whole company if it's a chain to become carbon neutral like was done to offset the carbon dioxide emissions that this movie's production caused or get renewable energy. You can have a reused cardboard sign urging the movie theatre to address the problem of global warming and not wait until it's too late, maybe including what the recent Pentagon report says would happen if the global warming shuts down the Gulf Stream, the same thing that happens in the movie. The Pentagon doesn't say it would cause an ice age, but it does say that it would cause many regions to be inhospitable. You can read about it on the website if you haven't read about it. http://www.commondreams.org/headlines04/0222-01.htm. You can pass out little reused paper flyers to movie-goers telling them to give to the ticket office person which say that the movie theatre should do this, and respond to the issue of global warming and not just show a movie about it. It could say on the reused paper flyer to pass out to movie-goers to encourage the movie theatre to go carbon neutral, " Give this flyer to the ticket office when you purchase your ticket to encourage your movie theatre/(company name) to go carbon neutral or switch to renewable energy like the movie you're showing-The Day After Tomorrow- did, " and have a short little message about why this is important relating it to the movie. I hope anyone reading this considers doing this. I think it would help create a buzz about this film and influence awareness about the problem of global warming. http://www.commondreams.org/headlines04/0313-02.htm. The flyers could have these websites: http://www.thedayaftertomorrow.com http://www.futureforests.com/dayafter/ http://www.futureforests.com/forbusinesses/benefits.asp And have other little flyers for the movie-goers to offset their emissions personally. http://www.futureforests.com/dayafter/Carbon_Neutral_Citizen.asp Please respond if you are interested in participating in this campaign and/or would like to help getting more people involved.
