Horse Salughter Ban Effort In Illinois Heats Up!

Effort To Ban The Slaughter Of Horses For Human Consumption Shifts To The Illinois' Senate!

 

Now that the two week legislative break is over, the effort to ban the slaughter of horses for human consumption in Illinois again shifts into high gear!

 

While efforts continue to pick-up additional votes in the Illinois House [to add to the 55 "YES" votes the last time a vote was taken], the battle will shift to the Illinois Senate for the next few weeks.

 

Legislation will be put forth in the Senate, and we will need the support of Senators to see that the ban on horse slaughter passes before the upcoming end of session deadlines. At the moment we do not have a Bill Number to refer to, but you can begin making your calls now. Urge your State Senator to support ANY legislation [bill or Amendment] that would ban the slaughter of horses for human consumption. A flood of calls must be received if we are to move this along, so be sure to pass this alert on to everyone you know and urge them to call their Senators too!

If possible, direct all calls to their Springfield office so that they will be aware of the call volume every day they are in session.

 

Please E-Mail or call me to let me know what your Senator says, why they support or oppose a ban on horse slaughter. This will help us compile a "Yes", "No" & "Undecided" list so that we can direct our efforts where they are most needed.
