We will not visit astate where cruelty and abuse to innocent animals is a dailyoccurence and widely accepted. I have learned that animals

aretreated like garbage in KY., and the laws protecting animals areseverely outdated. Many of the rural shelters are substandard andrefuse to work with rescue. Many of the Animal Control Officers donot meet the minimum standards required by law to hold the position.This is the case at the infamous Rowan County Dog Pound. Untilanimals are treated humanely in the state of KY, the state will notreceive any of my tourism dollars.The companion animal overpopulation in the state of KY has reached acritical point. Instead of educating the public, and making morefunds available to spay and neuter, the state chooses to killadoptable animals routinely and in spite of rescue being available.This is not acceptable. Many of the rural pounds are not open to thepublic a sufficient number of hours a week to conduct adoptions.ORGANIZATIONS HAVE COME FORWARD TO ASSIST IN BUILDING A NEW SHELTER, THEIR EFFORTS WERE REFUSED,
