Gentle Seniors Looking for Couch Space - A Dog Bed Will Do Too!

Dear Best Friends Network Members,

Carie of Animal Friends Rescue is still trying to place Gracie and Smokey, the Bernese Mountain Dog/Spring Spaniel Mixes that are at the SPCA of Monterey County. Some of you may remember that we sent a message to you back in January about these two dogs. Unfortunately, they are still in the shelter and really need out.

Gracie and Smokey are lovely 12 year old dogs that are very bonded with each other. They are extremely gentle, good with dogs, cats and children. Their owner's divorced and surrendered the dogs to the SPCA several months ago and the dogs have been at the shelter ever since. The staff at the SPCA are in love with them and really want to see them in a home situation. Shelter life isn't easy on any dog, but at their age, it's taking its toll. Gracie and Smokey have had some ups and downs; several possible adoptions that fell through, kennel cough twice, limping that cleared up, and possible ringworm that is also cleared up. All the hazards of life in a shelter.
