Guest guest
Hello all - I'm spending a couple of days in Sebastopol; does anyone know of some vegan restaurant options? (or at least vegan friendly) Thank you - Moya Our first duty to our little brothers and sisters, the animals, is never to do them any harm. Our responsibilities do not end there, however. Guest guest
Moya, I haven't been there in years, but I used to love the vegetarian, and very vegan friendly, restaurant Slice of Life, which is right in Sebastopol. The listing for this restaurant at www.bayareaveg.org/ug/ is at: http://www.bayareaveg.org/ug/display.htm?id=225 Going to www.bayareaveg.org/ug/ and typing in Sepastopol as a keyword, you'll also come up with a Whole Foods Market and what looks like 2 catering/personal chef entries. Other people might know of good vegan friendly/vegan places within driving distance. Or you can search the North Bay entries at the Bay Area Vegetarians website. Good luck and enjoy your visit. Take care. Lisa I'm spending a couple of days in Sebastopol; does anyone know of some vegan restaurant options? Guest guest
Hi Moya, If you're feeling up to an adventure, Santa Rosa is about 20 minutes down highway 12. In downtown Santa Rosa, there is the very vegan friendly, Annapurna (http://www.annapurna.net), an amazing Nepalese restaurant with lots of vegan options. There is also California Thai (on 5th or 7th st, I don't remember) that also has quite a few vegan offerings. Though neither restaurant label their vegan items on the menu as such, the staff at both restaurants are very friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to guide you through their menu. Cheers! Guest guest
I just wanted to add that California Thai has an entirely separate (and huge) vegetarian menu which is nice. Recently, my organization, Animal Legal Defense Fund, had an event there and I discovered the vegetarian menu is entirely vegan except for one dish that has egg noodles (which is also part of the name so it's pretty obvious). Another option in Sebastopol is Sushi Hana which has a large variety of vegan sushi rolls and some great Japanese salds. Also, Slice of Life, which was already mentioned, now has Follow Your Heart vegan cheese and vegan pepperoni available on its pizzas (which I love).
