Guest guest
Since there has been recent discussion about making almond milk, I thought I'd mention that I just saw a coupon on VegWeb for a soy milk maker. It says you can also make almond milk with it. The coupon is for $10 off and it looks like it's currently on sale for $97.99 (with free shipping). I'm no math expert, but that looks like $87.99. I have no idea if that is a reasonable price for soy/almond milk makers and I didn't buy it or see if the coupon works, but just wanted to inform everyone about it. Here's the link to the coupon: http://vegweb.com/coupons/ Melissa
Guest guest
Almond milk (you can also use other nuts and seeds) can easily be made in a blender. Soak the almonds during the day or overnight, rinse, throw in the blender, fill with water and turn the blender on. Some people like to strain the mixure and get out some of the pulp, and others just keep the drink unstrained. To sweeten, a little agave, a banana and throw in a little vanilla! Simple and no machine needed. If you have question, you can e-mail me. --Tracy vegan4animals <vegan4animals Sent: Sat, 20 May 2006 10:53:10 -0700 almond milk maker Since there has been recent discussion about making almond milk, I thought I'd mention that I just saw a coupon on VegWeb for a soy milk maker. Guest guest
Growing up (in India), my mom used to make this drink from soaked almonds, poppy seeds, cucumber seeds, black pepper, milk, etc. which was _awesome_. The origins of that lie in some ayurvedic text or the other (and here I will unashamedly admit my ignorance of such). I will get a recipe from her one of these days. The almonds were soaked for 24h and crushed in a mortar, instead of in a blender. This drink is supposed to cool you down in summer. The name is "thandAee", in case anyone's wondering...AjayTracyinfoTo: vegan4animals; Sent: Saturday, May 20, 2006 12:29:47 PMRe: almond milk maker Almond milk (you can also use other nuts and seeds) can easily be made in a blender.
