Guest guest
Most of ANDRONICO'S EGGS come from hens that are just as... confined and deprived as veal calves mutilated and mistreated as KFC chickens sentient and feeling as our cats or dogs ----------- This is a final invitation and reminder for the Week of Action at Andronico's, an exciting advocacy event that aims to put an end to this disturbing reality. RSVPs appreciated but not necessary. Check out: http://andronicosabuse.com/ The Week of Action is an effort to pressure Andronico's to go cage-free, to no longer sell any eggs from caged hens. The event will involve five back-to-back days of one hour demonstrations at the Stanford Shopping Center Andronico's and a similar series at the Berkeley Andronico's on Solano Avenue held by Christine Morrissey of East Bay Animal Advocates. The sessions will be low-key; we'll be holding signs, leafletting, and talking to customers. I've been in front of Andronico's a few times and the customers are very receptive and polite. The event will NOT be a boycott – we will simply encourage customers to talk directly to store management about the issue and to abstain from buying the store's eggs. Hopefully, as a result of our work, Andronico's will be forced to go cage-free to maintain its customers' trust and its image as a socially responsible company. Times for the Andronico's at 50 Stanford Shopping Center, Palo Alto: (Near Nordstrom and Crate and Barrel) Sunday July 16 1-2 pm Monday July 17 1-2pm Tuesday July 18 1-2 pm Wednesday July 19 6-7pm Thursday July 20 6-7 pm Times for the Andronico's at 1850 Solano Avenue, Berkeley Sunday July 16 6-7 pm Monday July 17 6-7 pm Tuesday July 18 6-7 pm Wednesday July 19 6-7 pm Thursday July 20 6-7 pm This campaign stretches far beyond the thousands of hens that lay eggs for Andronico's. This campaign stands powerfully in opposition to the status of today's farm animals as mere economic machines that may be manipulated in any way to maximize efficiency and profit. This campaign asks people to consider animals for what they actually are – conscious individuals with basic needs and capacities. Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience and background. Please pass the world along to anyone else you know who might be interested. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. See you there, Ben Davidow
