Guest guest
Did anyone else receive this twisted email reply from Pelosi, thanking you for your *support* of the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act? I received this yesterday. I've replied at her website and will call her local office. Even though it's probably a form letter, isn't it ridiculous to have one's opposition twisted into support? Over the years I've been contacting the politicos over issues, I've become accustomed to receiving rote form replies, but this takes the (vegan) cake! Janice pelosi Message from Representative Nancy Pelosi November 20, 2006 1:59:37 PM PST gata November 20, 2006 Ms. Janice Rothstein San Francisco, California Dear Ms. Rothstein: Thank you for contacting me to express your support for HR 4239, the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act. I appreciate hearing from you on this issue.
Guest guest
This happened to me. I emailed Pelosi's office in opposition to the AETA, and received a form letter thanking me for my support.Obviously this is just a staffer being lazy, so I didn't take it personally. However, if this happens to you *please* call Pelosi's office, and let them know that they need to switch any record of your communication from support to opposition. It's really important that their office doesn't have a long list of supporters on file.Give them the same name and street address you gave them when you emailed, and make it clear that in addition to opposing AETA, you want a full debate on the more odious provisions of the act the next time Congress meets. On Nov 21, 2006, at 10:01 AM, Janice Rothstein wrote:Did anyone else receive this twisted email reply from Pelosi, thanking you for your *support* of the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act?I received this yesterday. Guest guest
Have you considered taking your story to the local media? There's nothing like the glare of the media to make a politician mend his/her ways. I think it's just too fishy that so many people have had their concerns misrepresented. Reminds me of the electronic voting machines.... ;-) Ajay > N-J <peta2rox > Steve Simitzis <steve; BAV mail list <SFBAVeg > > Tuesday, November 21, 2006 10:03:03 PM > Re: Anyone else receive twisted reply from Pelosi? > > This happened to me as well!!! Guest guest
Good idea, there's a story in here, especially with Pelosi as the new Speaker of the House. A local politics story focused on Pelosi losing touch with her constituents could grab some attention. Anyone have any contacts at the Chron?
