Guest guest
Hi Everybody.. This is just to let everyone on the list know that All About Herbs (http://www.bayareaveg.org/ug/display.htm?id=824) closed a few days ago, temporarily they said, but they don't know when they're going to reopen. (The BAVeg Vegan Book Club had a reservation there for next Sunday the 20th; they were going to open up for our group, and I found out this when I called today to confirm.) People have raved about the place so hopefully they will reopen. - Lisa
Guest guest
Thanks for the update, Lisa. I've been wanting to try this place, too! I've updated the listing in the Guide to say it's temporarily closed. All About Herbs (http://www.bayareaveg.org/ug/display.htm?id=824) If anyone is in that area on a regular basis, if you could let us know of any new information, that would be appreciated. Thanks, Tammy Bay Area Vegetarianswww.BayAreaVeg.org
Guest guest
no matter how much they try, they can't make the atmosphere of " high class " like Millennium... ....while you're sitting next to a coke machine!!! and the cafe menu is up above you, with Chicken sandwiches as a menu item!!! read my restaurant review hinting, i rather pay less, since most people are on a budget. (I think they can't be a fast food joint if the kitchen is too small, maybe limited precook menu items might work...) I usually get Thai food at " Thai Noodles " or other places for $8 that comes with rice. a few lousy dollars can make a big difference == In my restaurant review, I said there's 3 other Thai Restaurants l/2 Block away! But I didn't mention the BIG BIG Thai restaurant " Thai Noodle Cafe " --- 1 l/2 blocks away on Geary St/Leavenworth. They newly modernized their decor to sleek black, prices are lower (not organic) They have a huge customer base for over 10 years. The restaurant opens till 2 or 3 am and can seat over 60 people. Most evenings the restaurant is full or 80% full. yes, they have customers that like to have LATE meals, sorry for the sad news, If you are interested in a vegetarian restaurant, pls consult a few veggie folks who sort of know the business.... I recommend C and T, the founders of BAVEG. They know the community and restaurants well. They pretty much can tell if a business will will go well or not. (compliments to them) If you open a restaurant business, expect a BIG loss the first few yeas. Most restaurant can not handle the big risk and financial burden (overhead) these are my personal comments I am not in the restaurant business. I just like to go out to eat. sign, Winnie I don't go out to eat that often anymore cause I have 2 friends who occasionally cook vegan food for me. (thanks vegan friends) not , " Lisa Herzstein " <lisavegansf wrote: > > Hi Everybody.. Guest guest
The issue is their cook left, which is kinda important for a restaurant. They are still planning to re-open but didn't have a date yet.... http://www.bayareaveg.org/ug/display.htm?id=824 Tammy Bay Area Vegetarianswww.BayAreaVeg.org
