Guest guest
Hi all, There's a new vegetarian, vegan-friendly business on the block! Tofu Yu deli has opened a deli/takeout in Berkeley at Ashby and 9th, and according to their website, are also opening a deli/cafe in El Cerrito, with hopes to serve the larger Bay Area in future. I went to the Berkeley deli this morning, and they don't yet have all menu options available (they said give them a few weeks), but they had coffee drinks, and I brought some vegan mac-n-cheese which is very tasty, and they had some sliced wraps and tofu balls which looked really good. Check them out when you have the chance! http://tofuyu.com/index.html Sara

Guest guest
Yes, thanks everyone for the UG updates.I would like to point out that the East Bay and SF each have about one vegetarian restaurant per 30,000 residents, while the South Bay has one per 50,000. ;-) *Greg* for cities listed with open restaurants -------------- Original message from "Tammy, BAVeg" <t: -------------- Hi all,Thanks to Ira and Sara for recent updates about veg restaurants. This probably reduces the ratio well below that of the South Bay. Let's just agree there aren't enough. -- David Benfell <dbenfell
