Guest guest
Hello Kansinee,I like Frey Vineyards wines. They have red and white table wines, and other varieties. All are vegan. They're usually available through Whole Foods, but sometimes you have to ask them to order it.For champagne, I usually get Moet & Chandon White Star, which you can get anywhere. Try BevMo.-Mike Borg Kansinee Adsanatham <kansinee_a Sent: Thursday, August 7, 2008 5:11:41 PM Vegan wine suggestion Anyone have suggestions for vegan wine? Guest guest
Rainbow has a good selection of wines (including Organic ones). And, IIRC, their wines are vegan (but you'll have to ask someone who works there). Ajay On 08/08/2008 11:48 AM, Michael Borg wrote: > > > Hello Kansinee, > > I like Frey Vineyards wines. Guest guest
With all due respect to the fine folks at Frey, I don't care for their wines. A good place to start is the excellent wine list at Millenium. Depending on where you live, you can find many of their wines at a local wine shop (but probably not at Safeway or other big places). Here's their list: http://www.millenniumrestaurant.com/menus/wine.html. What makes wines not vegan is the process of fining, which is filtering the wines through egg whites or other animal based products. Here's an article on the process: http://www.vrg.org/journal/vj97jan/971wine.htm. In general if a wine is not fined (pronounced " finned " ) then it will be vegan. You might go to a wine shop and as for their unfined wines. Francie
Guest guest
The Millennium wine list may not be your best reference for vegan wines. I once asked a server at Millennium if all of the wines on the wine list are vegan, and the reply was no. Some vegan wine guides can be found at these websites:http://vegans.frommars.org/wine/http://www.veggiewines.co.uk/popularwines.htmhttp://www.barnivore.com/wineHope this helps.-Robfranciesalle <franciesalle Sent: Friday, August 8, 2008 6:09:23 PM Re: Vegan wine suggestionWith all due respect to the fine folks at Frey, I don't care for their wines.
