Guest guest
Carson & Barnes Circus is coming to Vallejo tomorrow night, and we need your help to raise awareness about the cruelty and violence that go on behind the scenes. Many people don't know that trainers use whips, bullhooks, electric prods, and other painful tools to force animals to perform confusing and unnatural tricks. It's up to kind people like you to share this knowledge with others so that they, too, will boycott the circus. Please take some time out of your day to speak up for animals who are abused in circuses. They do not have a voice, so we must use our voices to speak up for them. What: Demonstration against Carson & Barnes When: Saturday, September 6, 6 p.m. Where: Waterfront Park, 495 Mare Island Way, Vallejo If you have any questions about the demonstration, please contact Kristie at KristieP. Be sure to check out Circuses.com for other ways you can help animals abused in the circus—from writing a letter to the editor of your local newspaper to sharing PETA's online videos with your friends and family. Thank you for everything that you do to help animals! Guest guest
Thank you for informing us about this important demonstration. I would like to point out that the non-human animals in circuses DO have voices. We may not understand (or even listen to) what they are saying, but that does not mean they do not have a voice. Circuses are bad for non-human animals, and not just because of the horrific cruelty and violence we inflict upon them. A recent editorial speaks eloquently to this: http://www.stcatharinesstandard.ca/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1184931 From the editorial: " Even if they're not abusing the animals, I'm against animal circuses. Use without consent is slavery.
