Guest guest
Hi all, I'm going to NY this weekend and am overwhelmed by the choices of vegan places to eat. I know I'll be going to the Candle Cafe, but I'm wondering if anyone who has been to NY recently has any don't miss places. I'm staying on the upper east side, but can hop a subway anywhere. I have 48 hours to fit in some vegadventuring, and want to make the most of it! Thanks, Francie
Guest guest
Don't miss Counter. My favorite place by far when I lived on the East Coast. A bit pricey but no worse than Green's (and cheaper than Millenium!).
Guest guest
Candle Cafe (and Candle 79) are about my favorites. If you want to be able to have pizza in NYC, try Cafe Viva pizzeria on 2nd Ave (from uptown you can take the 6 train to Astor Place.)They have unusual combos like pesto, shiitake, and vegan cheeze. It's super casual and all veg*n. Not too far from there is Curly's Lunch, which is diner/comfort food. On the Lower East Side there's Babycakes vegan bakery (how many times day can I go there?), around the corner from Moo Shoes. I've heard the vegan Korean place, Hangawi, is amazing, but I haven't been there. --Candace , " franciesalle " <franciesalle wrote: > > Hi all, > > I'm going to NY this weekend and am overwhelmed by the choices of vegan places to eat. Guest guest
I used to live in NYC before coming to the bay and go back often (last week). The places that I always return in Manhattan are: Red Bamboo (Vegan and Veg) http://www.redbamboo-nyc.com Vegetarian Paradise 2 (Vegan and Veg - two buildings from Red Bamboo) http://www.vp2-nyc.com I went to HanGawi for the first time, this last trip, never went there when living in NYC. Good food, great place, will now add this on my repeat lists. -Leroy On Tue, Oct 07, 2008 at 04:52:42PM -0000, kitzcatzhatz <kitzcatzhatz wrote: > Candle Cafe (and Candle 79) are about my favorites.
