Guest guest
V8 is most definitely NOT raw! It also contains an insane amount of sodium. Sorry! But it is easy to make your own. Just Juice the veggies listed in the ingredients... Kristi On Mar 28, 2006, at 10:57 AM, springsilvermoon wrote: > What does anyone know about V8 vegetable juice? Guest guest
Thanks all!!! I don't have a juicer yet. What brands of juices are safe to drink until I get one? jerushy1944 <no_reply > wrote: True and it IS easy to make and you know it's raw, nutritious, and even better, delicious! Guest guest
None, because, by law they have to be pasteurized (cooked). Look for fresh-squeezed juice at a fruit stands and restaurants. Guest guest
Or you could squeeze your own. I used to do that with a manual citrus juicer until I got an electric one. Guest guest
As Kristi said, they are all pasteurized. Juice bars and restaurants may be able to provide freshly squeezed juice. Do you have a blender? Why not try smoothies instead until you're able to get a juicer... You can make them thinner by adding water, that's what I do when I just want to use the blender not the juicer but don't want a really thick smoothie. Guest guest
This is why I said from the start that I do NOT ever listen to rumors about what is supposedly in food. I think it's terrible to go around spreading unsubstantiated rumors, which causes people to stop eating or drinking something and ruins a product's reputation with no basis. The best thing to do in all cases is research and come up with real answers. And, by the way, I did ask my friend who is the chemist at Campbell's--his wife has cancer and his two children have developmental disabilities, so he is overwhelmed right now--but he also verified that V8 and low sodium V8 are both vegan. Maryann <This is the note I got from the kosher certification agency: " Good Morning, There are no honey or fish products in the juice. It is totally vegan. Enjoy! " So, that's it. The kosher certified V8 juice is 100% vegan. Take care, Aly>
Guest guest
> The best thing to do in all cases is research and come up with real > answers. People *have* written to Campbells and get told that the exact ingredients in the low salt's " natural flavorings " are proprietary, then they repeat that the regular V8 juice is a vegetarian product. And, by the way, I did ask my friend who is the chemist at > Campbell's--his wife has cancer and his two children have > developmental disabilities, so he is overwhelmed right now--but he > also verified that V8 and low sodium V8 are both vegan. Thank you! This is good to see, albeit from an unofficial source. Why doesn't the PTB in the company's customer service department just come out and say so instead of beating around the bush?
