Guest guest
I just wanted to share my successful Thanksgiving dinner. We celebrated with family yesterday because we won't be able to attend anything on Thursday because of work. I used almost all the recipes from Bryanna Clark Grogan's holiday menu... http://www.bryannaclarkgrogan.com/page/page/1435893.htm. It was a success! Of 11 people me and my two kids were the only Vegans, but everyone was delighted by the meal. The gravy was very popular, even with my anti-Vegan husband...I dared not tell him what was in it. I do have to recommend the pumpkin pie recipe. It was gobbled up! I had tried a recipe several weeks ago with tofu and it was gross. I almost gave up hope. But, the first line of Bryanna's recipe was that she didn't like pumpkin pie with tofu in it, either. Her recipe was awesome. It set up well, wasn't too sweet and no one knew the difference! I don't know what was better... sharing a healthy meal with my family or not feeling sick and bloated for the rest of the night! What a difference... -Jeannine Also... instead of serving turkey for dinner, we had one as a guest. My kids used part of their allowance to adopt a turkey from Farm Sanctuary. We put our turkey's picture on the table as the center piece. Happy Thanksgiving!
Guest guest
What a fantastic day you must have had. Thank you for sharing! And, I would like to second your review of Bryanna's pumpkin pie recipe. I no longer make the "other" kind and my family doesn't know the difference. I made her vegan mincemeat a couple of weeks ago and froze it for Christmas tarts so I'll let you all know how they turn out. StefArgue not with dragons, for thou art crunchy and go well with brie. Guest guest
Hi Jeannine--I love that pumpkin pie, too. It's been my traditional Thanksgiving pie for years. Did you make the soy and seitan " turkey " ? I'm seriously considering making that this year and wondered what results people have had. Guest guest
I didn't attempt the " turkey " . I managed to get all the ingredients, except the tofu, so I couldn't make it. But, I am planning on making it this week. I will let you know how it turns out. -Jeannine
