Guest guest
-Do you have any recipes to share? Or is is just a matter of taking a regualr recipe and swaping out the four? I would love to make some rice based tortillas! -- In , " Brenda-Lee Olson " <shalomaleichemacademy wrote: > > Tortillas are relatively easy to make at home, especially if you get a > tortilla press. Guest guest
If you go the the files you'll find a number of tortilla recipes. Go to Files then ***Recipes Posted to VGF*** then Pancakes, Latkes, Crepes, Corn Cakes and Tortillas then Tortillas I have personally made the " Favorite Gluten Free Tortillas " and they turned out great. You'll see my comments under the recipe. Kim , " spcercone " <sharon.cercone wrote: > > -Do you have any recipes to share? Guest guest
I’m reading about corn tortillas being better than flour tortillas ... But what about the oil content? I can’t find any in Australia that are fat free or even low fat. I figured the flour ones would be better because they aren’t fried. Is that wrong? Corn tortillas have no added fat before they're fried, but if you can't get them where you are, you might try some other kind of flatbread. There are recipes in some of McDougall's books. If you want, I can type out a few for you. Serene -- http://serenejournal.livejournal.com
Guest guest
There is ONE store where I’ve seen the flat corn tortillas (before they are fried to a stiff shape) ... I’ll have to get to that store again and see if they still carry them. They used to be at every store but they must not get used much here because now they are only in the enchilada kits. BTW, you can make a decent tostda shell by simply baking corn tortillas in the oven or toaster oven and turning them occasionally.
