Guest guest
I bought one at a garage sale for 50 cents. It was barely used and works great. Leslie in Atlanta Air poppers are inexpensive-you can get a brand new one for $15-$20. Used ones are even less. The one I have I got for Christmas from my dad 16 years ago and still works great! Guest guest
Well, how about using a big pot, so there is plenty of room, and only using a small amount of corn. This way, you can shake the pot and the stuff on the bottom will be moving and not burn. They also sell pop corn poping things for camping, but probably not this time of year, that can be use over a gas burner. Guest guest
Ive heard you can put pop corn in a little brown paper bag and microwave it and it takes no Oil. All our years growing up in the 1950's doing it this way and my mom never used oil or butter, just the dry pot. As long as you keep shaking that pan nothing will stick or burn. But, I just bought a new one, and the instructions state not to place a paper bag into the microwave oven, as it may catch fire. I don't know why that may be, because paper towels are acceptable. Maybe the glue holding the bag together will get hot enough to cause the bag to burst into flame. (Just my guess). Norm
Guest guest
>Ive heard you can put pop corn in a little brown paper bag and microwave it and it takes no Don't use any old brown lunch bag for this, because many of them are made from recycled papers and may have traces of metal in them (from staples, paperclips, etc. mixed in with the papers). Also, if left on too long, the kernels get super-heated and can burn the paper bags. If cooking popcorn in a microwave, the safest way is to use a microwavable bowl, whether it's an official popcorn maker or not. But since the person asking the original question had neither an air-popper or a microwave that point is moot. Sue in NJ
