Logophile that I am, I'm d to the

Word Of The Day from dictionary.com. Many

I already know, but they still make good

refreshers. Today's word was "friable,"

which means "easily crumbled, pulverized,

or reduced to powder." What does this

have to do with anything? Well, with all

the recent talk of smoothies and freezing

greens, the first sentence that flashed

across my mind as a use of this word was

"You freeze kale to make it more friable."

OK, call me a geek. LOL.

Hey geek, it takes one to know one: I to three words of the day, one of them in Spanish (yes, I saw friable) and do my daily good deed by using it for charity at rice.com. I've contributed 25,300 grains of rice (29,000 makes a full pound according to my research) in the new year!!

Your fellow geek,

Janet
