Hi Trish,

I suggest you try Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet. It

is very good and comes in a few different " flavors " .

You can find it in natural foods markets. It is the

best I have tried.

Many, many years ago, I, too, was a cheese-a-holic.

That included ice cream, yogurt, etc. It is

surprising now that I have zero desire for it. I am a

former " extra cheese " person. It was easy for me due

to the alternatives.

Good luck in your transition. I would also like to

recommend a book. It was my " bible " when I went from

veg to vegan. The New Farm Cookbook by Louise Hagler

and Dorothy Bates. I still use recipes from it.

Peace.

Kris

Not exactly low or no fat, but Vegan Gourmet is my favorite. It melts AND tastes good. It is made by Follow Your Heart. They are based in California (they even have a restaurant/health food store called Follow Your Heart. It is in Canoga Park. I ate there the last time I was in the area a few years ago; service wasn't very good but the food was awesome). It comes in 4 varieties-Mozzarella (the best), Monterey Jack (2nd best-can sub for Mozzerella if you can't find it), Cheddar (not very good) and Nacho (not good at all). If you can't find it where you live, you can order it online at http://www.followyourheart.com/bahar varzgah <bahar5899 wrote: Hi, Please let me know where do i buy vegan cheese? What is the brand? If you live in southern California, People's Market, Henry's/Wild Oats, Jimbos and Whole Foods carry some kind of vegan cheese. My favorite is the Vegan Gourmet, the Mozzarella (substituted in casseroles, sangwiches) and the Nacho (for quesadillas, nachos, tacos and broccoli topping) are our favorites. Beware of some of the brands that say lactose free, many have caesin in them, a milk protein that is a high allergen and certainly not vegan. I've tried the almond cheese but didn't like them at all.Hope this helps!Victoria-----
