Guest guest
I don't make soy milk (or other milks, like millet milk, which makes an incredibly smooth gravy/sauce) as much as I used (I moderated the " Soy Toy " recipes awhile back... just don't do Soy Milk that much these days), but I did use okara in spaghetti sauces, mock crab cakes, soups, and so on. You could also mix it with cooked rice, bread crumbs or gluten flour, some sauteed veggies, and make a decent loaf. As to composting with it, I giggle thinking about something that happened a few years ago. I was talking about my composting (and the bucket outside the kitchen for such), with a carnivorous friend. His wife had cautioned him on what could or could not go into their " passive " compost pile. In the middle of the conversation, he went blank for a minute, and then said, with a stunned voice, " you don't need to worry about what you put in the compost pile, do you? EVERYTHING you eat as a vegan can go in. Wow. " Yup... the ultimate recycling diet (unless you count Lisa Simpson's friend in an episode where she did the " Butterfly " bit of sitting in a tree to save it... he did " pocket " composting). FYI, Mark (and of course, my compost pile is, ahem, " no added fat... " ) http://www.soulveggie.com
