Guest guest
About a year ago I picked up an issue of VT introducing the new editor. She is vegan, and as a result many of the recipes are now vegan. If I were to to a mag, however, I'd go with VegNews (am I getting the name right - I am sooo tired). Its 100% vegan. - Sue in NJ Tuesday, June 03, 2008 7:14 AM Re: Needing Recipes? > > www.vegetariantimes.com offers great recipes vegan and> > vegetarian on their website.>> Do they have more vegan stuff now?No, about the same as it has been for the past few years. The mag admitsit gears itself towards SAD eaters who want the occasional veggie meal.I let my subscription lapse, too, the last issue I got was around theholidays.> If VT has changed their emphasis, I'll have to give them another look.> I think they may be the longest-lasting veg magazine in the U.S.> that's still in publication. There's always VegNews:http://www.vegnews.comand the magazine of the Vegetarian Resource group:http://www.vrg.orgBoth of these are vegan, but of course you'll have to remove the oilfrom the recipes.Sue in NJ

Last time I saw VegNews, it was mostly articles, with a few recipes. Is it still that way? I'm really in it for the recipes these days. :-) Serene
Guest guest
You're correct - It does have articles along with recipes. It is about the vegan lifestyle, not just recipes. - Serene Tuesday, June 03, 2008 10:27 PM Re: Vegetarian times Janet Coe Hammond wrote:> About a year ago I picked up an issue of VT introducing the new> editor. Nowadays, I want interesting stuff to cook for my omnivorous family. (Not saying it's wrong for anyone else, just that it doesn't appeal to me personally.) On Topic: Made a lovely gravy today of homemade veggie stock, flour, salt, pepper, and nutritional yeast. It was simple, but that's what I need. I'm on solid foods, finally, but still nothing too harsh on my poor tummy. Serene

There's usually a few theme articles with recipes, like Burgers, or African foods, all vegan. And there's always the Internet for recipes. They often have vegan recipes or recipes with a vegan option. Not all are useable, but I still enjoy it because many are. I like VegNews, but I wish they would stay out of the political stuff. Guest guest
Those particular special issues of VegNews are my least favorite; they're just not of much interest to a single, homebody. But, the rest of the year makes for good reading. -Erin http://www.zenpawn.com/vegblog - Sue in NJ Wednesday, June 04, 2008 6:30 AM [Released] Re: Vegetarian times > Last time I saw VegNews, it was mostly articles, with a few recipes.
