Guest guest
I made up this recipe last weekend to use up the last of the fresh strawberries in my fridge. It wasn't anywhere near as sweet at the commercially made smoothies, but was good just the same. Next time I might add a bit of sugar. 1 cup sliced strawberries with any juice that collected 1 cup pineapple chunks 1 frozen banana 2 handsful ice cubes or as needed Put the fruit in the blender and blend until smooth, adding strawberry juice, pineapple chunk juice or orange juice as needed. Add ice cubes and blend again until smooth. Have a great weekend! Mary
Guest guest
To give a smoothie more of that fresh fruit flavor, use frozen fruit instead of ice cubesthreefatesfiber <maryl4 wrote: I made up this recipe last weekend to use up the last of the fresh strawberries in my fridge. Guest guest
This sounds super yummy. Freezing all your fruit before you blend it makes your drink super yummy and smooth... and then you don't have to water it down with ice. I'm surprised the pineapple and banana didn't sweeten it up a ton. If I want super sweet smoothies those are always the first fruits I add more of. , " threefatesfiber " <maryl4 wrote: > > > I made up this recipe last weekend to use up the last of the fresh > strawberries in my fridge. Guest guest
Had I planned at all ahead prior to making this, I probably would have frozen all of the fruit. The only reason I had a frozen banana is that I freeze ripe bananas for use in baking. The smoothie-making was a rather spontaneous undertaking. :-) The ice actually worked just fine. I'd spent 4+ hours doing yard work in 90 degree heat, so the extra water intake from the ice was definitely a good idea. In any event, I ate it all fast enough that none of it melted or got " watered down " . The flavor was really intense, even with ice. Thanks for the suggestions! Guest guest
I add a maple, and tubinado at times to add sweetness. I know, I know. I'm bad. But I still have a major sweet tooth.audifem <kailax+ Sent: Sunday, June 8, 2008 5:33:32 AM Re: Pineapple-strawberry-banana smoothie This sounds super yummy.
