I used to eat Morning Star when I was a vegetarian, but now that I am vegan, I can't find anything without egg or diary that tastes decent. Any suggestions? Thanks! You've made a good healthy (and maybe moral as well) decision to go Vegan. What you may not know however is that GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms) ingredients run rampant in Vegan processed foods and will cause you as much, if not worse harm than meat and dairy (which also have many , many problems). Just to be clear and succinct, GMO foods are created by injecting cells with "genetic material" (much like injecting cancer ) which genetically modify them. That is how the genes are manipulated. Soy (tofu, tempe, miso, soy milk etc.) Corn (corn syrup!), Wheat (BREAD!) and Canola (a made up word of Canada & Oil and it's in lot's of foods) are some of the worst and most widespread offenders. There are other foods as well as those that are GMO and I encourage you to research those as well . I used to eat Light life and other processes Vegan foods because they're so convenient. But if you look at who owns those companies you'll find mega corporations that don't care about health at all! If they did, they would not use GMO which has time and time been proven to cause Cancer and worse in lab animals. Here's a wake up call . Lab animals = humans as well. That's why they test animals...I beg this list to always consider eating NON-GMO, Organic foods. Try also to eat non-pesticide foods. It's a sad state of affairs when the mighty dollar is more important than our health, but what else is new?So, in answer to your question about Hot Dogs - I would suggest Tofurky because they are at least Organic. I personally like the Kilbasas and Beer Brats. I don't really like the "Hot dogs" they have, but the Chipotle Dogs are great when grilled and served with Organic onions, Organic mustard and Organic bread.I know I put a l0t of links in this message, but I have been on this list for quite a while and I can't remember any one mentioning anything about this very serious important health issue. For example, whole foods house brand of tofu is organic and reasonably priced too. The veggie dogs, while made with some organic ingredients, are also vegetarian, not vegan. Smart dogs and tofu pups are both vegan, but it doesn't say on their site if they are organic. What do your packages say? Do they say " no gmo " or " organic?
