Hi everyone

I really want to make this delicious sounding recipe from Susan's

blog, however, I don't have whole cumin seeds or whole cloves--just

ground cumin and ground cloves. Does anyone have any idea what the

substitution would be? I know I should get some cumin seeds as I love

cumin so much, but I am lazy and I find the ground so much more

convenient! I am going to make it in the crock pot so I don't have to

heat up the kitchen. Here is the link to the recipe:

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much

Courtney

Hey Courtney,

I would use somewhere between 1/8 and 1/4 teaspoon of ground

cloves--just enough to give a slight taste.

Hope that helps!

I'd go with an equal amount of cumin. Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks so much, Susan! What about the cumin? How much ground cumin do you think would be good for the 1 tsp of cumin seeds? Thanks againCourtney

And I'll jump in to say that you couldn't possibly get too much cumin! I love that spice!
