Guest guest
The only taste I can associate with spring is probably lemon pancakes. For me spring begins at the beginning of February, and summer begins at the beginning of May, so we are still cold, and often wet and cloudy for spring. For summer (May onwards) I think of the smell of bluebells and may blossom, and the taste of new mint. , fraggle <EBbrewpunx wrote: > > ok..i have an oddball question... > > ok...what i want to know is, if you had to think about a " flavor " for spring, what would it be? > i said it was odd... > what does spring make you think about? > how does that smell, if it had a smell? > does it have a taste? seriously... > if you had to describe how spring tasted, what would you say? > does spring smell like freshly turned warm earth? grass? flowers? what does that taste like? > ( i don't think this is spring for me, but when i thought of freshly turned warm soil, it made me think of warm bread fresh from the oven...) > > > now, if you haven't shaken yer head and walked away... > what about summer? > if someone said " summer! Guest guest
Hi All, I have a question if anyone can help. I have been vegan for a while (but NOT fat free). I need to lose a bit of weight, about 25 pounds. I like to have an alcohol beverage (or a few, lol) a couple nights a week (mostly beer). Anyway, my question is this... does anyone else here ever drink alcohol, and also do you think I can still lose weight drinking beer if I change my diet to FAT FREE vegan? I know beer have calories but maybe if I switch to NO FAT that would help. Any thoughts on this??? Thanks All, Nikita " All the arguments to prove man's superiority cannot shatter this hard fact: In suffering, the animals are our equals " . ~Peter Singer~
Guest guest
Hi Nikita I think that a couple of beers a couple times a week would do no harm. Certainly a fat free vegan diet would help, and you might want to keep track of your calorie intake those days- consider the alchohol to be "empty calories" and eat very healthy those days. I've been steadily loosing about 5 pounds a month since the beginning of the year going back to fat free, and walking about 3 miles or so a day. Good luck! lc carol nikita4animals wrote: Hi All, I have a question if anyone can help. I have been vegan for a while (but NOT fat free). I need to lose a bit of weight, about 25 pounds. Guest guest
Hi Nikita,I suggest you have a food diary to keep track of the estimated calorie your take in daily. Based on your age, height and weight you can find out the calorie you need daily. If the calorie you take in is less than what you need, over time you can lose 25 lbs. I hope my suggestion is useful to you.Best regards,New Sun--- On Wed, 10/9/08, nikita4animals <nikita4animals wrote:nikita4animals <nikita4animals Odd Question Date: Wednesday, 10 September, 2008, 10:50 AM Hi All, I have a question if anyone can help. Guest guest
Hi. I feel your pain. I think it will be very difficult to lose weight while still drinking any decent amount of beer - (like that phrasing?!). I recently took off 15 lbs and had to cut wine out to get the last 5 off. I cut back on carbs and portions as a lifestyle change - not just for the weight loss. I still want 5 more off but I think I'll have to do it with exercise more than anything and when I do start drinking wine again I will have to be alot more moderate than I had grown accustomed to! There is something to be said for extreme moderation as a habit with the occasional blowout (I'm talking wine here - beer for you). But with food, I think that making a well thought out decision to change intake in portion and quality that you can live with permanently is wise esp after a certain age - which you cannot get wild horses to drag out of me!Cheers!redhedgurrl
Guest guest
redhead, I'm fascinated by your post. I've been thinking the last couple weeks about how to get portions under control (food not wine, the wine I cut out altogether *tear*). I'd love to know how you go about changing intake. Any suggestions will be helpful. Russ , " R.G. Camp " <redhedgurrl wrote: > > Hi. I feel your pain. Guest guest
Thank you all who answered my question... I am not only going to go totally fat free, but I will start walking a couple of miles a day to get rid of some of these calories. I currently have not been exercising at all. Nikita , " C.
