If not I think we should all write one together. LOL ok well lets

Sara, I just got a subscription to Living Nutrition. It comes out

twice a year but it's chock full of articles and recipes. I'm still

working my way through Volume 16 (they sent 16, 17, and 18 via

Priority Mail).

Only occasionally do I have the opportunity to read Vegetarian Times,

and I'm not yet ready to to it, nor do I have the money, but

there is one magazine to which I . Flute Talk has been a

wonderful investment for me, and I'm trying to collect past issues

that I don't have. If anyone has some they'd like to get rid of,

please e-mail me off list.

If you have an ARC thrift store in your town check there for magazines.

I see every kind of magazine published on the racks for under $1. Often

they are half off the price marked. You can get issuse of Vegetarian

Times, Mother Earth News, Oprah, Martha Stewert etc. all for pennies.

I love the gardening mags. I buy, read and donate them back. Another

great way to get magazines is to ask on Freecycle.

VegNews-it's my favorite :) It comes out bimonthly and every recipe in there is always vegan. Some places sell them at their news stands, but I have a 3 year subscription so I know I'll always get my copy. It's $50 for 3 years + you get a free tote bag if you go this route.http://www.vegnews.com/.htmlI also get Vegetarian Times in the mail, but I get that free by having a membership with EarthSave International (www.earthsave.org) Also, with the EarthSave membership, you get their quarterly newsletter full of lots of great veg info. A regular individual membership is $35 (but if you are a senior or student, it is less. There are also family memberships too). VT is OK, and they have started putting in more vegan recipes than they used to. Most (but not all) things that are just veg can generally be made vegan

with a few substitutions. Some of those can be made fat free vegan as well.I really love Herbivore Magazine. Also 100% vegan , but it isn't just about recipes. When I had a subscription, I looked forward to getting my magazine in the mail & I sat down & read it cover to cover :) SOmehow I let my subscription lapse, but they now have an online version with a lot of free content in it that anybody can read (printed version comes out 2x a year-supposedly). There are also areas only open for rs, & I tried to re, but that page must be down or inactive, because I got an error message :(http://herbivoremagazine.com/--- On Mon, 10/27/08, Timothy <whitelighter1968 wrote:Timothy <whitelighter1968

There's also Vegetarian Journal, the magazine of the Vegetarian Resource

Group

http://www.vrg.org

All recipes here are vegan, also.

Last I heard the whole thing was clsoed for good. When they said it was

coming *back* in a tiny, almost square format I got one issue, then it

died completely. I'm annoyed, as I had just renewed it when they

announced it was closing the first time and was told by Josh that I

wasn't able to get my money back, that all subscriptions were converted

to the web format.

issue #14 (Travel Issue) is the last issue published, and that's from

about a year ago. I'm looking through it now and can't find any date in

the entire magazine. Weird.

Vegnews here too. Like it a lot, almost entirely Vegan. I'm also an

American Vegan Society member so get their magazine also like it a lot

(actually have all the back issues and am reading my way thru the 60's

right now :-) Really liked Herbivore and d back in Feb (4

issues) was then told I would only be getting 3 and they were stopping

the mag. No more issues have come out so last week I asked for a refund

and was given it promptly with apologies and assurances that #15 was

completed and coming out soon and that I could order the single issues

if I wanted to later. Altogether a great mag and great folks, hated to

see it go.
