Guest guest
Just call me the poster child for the start-and-stop school of McDougalling. The blood pressure is still an issue, and I'm not getting any younger. I know that I feel better when I'm eating very little fat and no animal products, so here I go again. Anyone want to join me? I have a doctor's appointment tonight, and after that, I'm off and running -- that way, I have a baseline to go from. The 100% compliance thing seems to work best for me, so I'll give it a shot, and if it stresses me out too much, I'll make some modifications. (For me, 100% compliance means no animal products, no added fats/oils, and keeping an eye on refined foods, sugar, and high-fat plant foods.) Guest guest
Hi Serene, I've been up and down, off and on this list for a couple of years now. I lost quite a bit of weight and I'm inching my way upwards (pun intended) again. I'm with you! I won't have blood test for a few weeks, but will start right now with you. 100% compliance is the only way it works for me. I'm kind of like the alcoholic who can't drink in moderation. I'll do as you do: no animal products, no added fats/oils, and keep an eye on refined foods, sugar, and high-fat plant foods. Thanks for bringing this to the list. I'll make a commitment to post more often as well. Guest guest
> Anyone want to join me? I'm in too. I was doing really well for a while but in the past week have totally dropped off. Guest guest
Count me in too!...I don't do a formal McDougal diet... never read his book before, but what I do is vegan no added fat and very little sugar, very little nuts, almost no avocado (alas)... anyhoo I'm in too! If any of you need support just post away and I'll be behind you 100% Russell
Guest guest
how do you do it on the group? Just post daily whats working... whats not... when you struggle etc.. seek support?? How bout creating a blog where folks can read about your progress and maybe be inspired.. I fear the volume on this list may be so great if you all post daily that many would leave and it brings such value. Ideas? Tom
Guest guest
Same goes for you, too, Russell. Any needed support ... just post and one of us will answer. I mostly do Fuhrman, but I've read most of the books and will pick recipes from here and there as long as they're vegan and no added fat. I also try to do a great deal of raw ... big salads and green smoothies. I think we're pretty much on the same page here. I bought lots of fruits and veggies tonight. All set to start first thing tomorrow morning. Mary Russell <russp85 Fri, 14 Nov 2008 7:44 pm Re: Here we go again! Guest guest
Hi Tom, I'm not going to every day what I'm doing or eating. I have an personal daily food log for that. Just knowing there are others out there with me on the path helps. Also, I will reach out if having trouble and be a support to anyone who is having difficulties. I think you're right that we shouldn't overwhelm the list with posting daily food logs, etc. What do the rest of you think? Guest guest
I'm with you, Serene! Ie been maintaining the same weight after losing nearly 40 lbs since the beginning of the year. But these little "cheats" refined flours, a little cheese, and stuff had got to stop. How to jumpstart the metabolism again to start loosing. Were's my walking shoes? lc carol Serene wrote: Just call me the poster child for the start-and-stop school of McDougalling. The blood pressure is still an issue, and I'm not getting any younger. Guest guest
I'm in too!!!! I keep slipping for some reason. I'm eating vegan but keep turning to potato chips and junk instead of sticking to fat free and no oil! Please lets all keep in touch with our progress. I am just getting this message and will start tomorrow (Monday). Good Luck All! Nikita
