Guest guest
I think, to some extent, it depends on the complexity of the message and the reply. Sometimes, it's easier, as Alice has done, to "top post," while other times, it helps to add your comments in-line as you respond to each point or question. -Erinhttp://www.zenpawn.com/vegblog - Alice Leonard Tuesday, November 18, 2008 2:52 PM Re: Re: Here We Go Again Recipe At the top works for me!aliceOn 19/11/2008, at 8:43 AM, Russell wrote: BTW... Guest guest
Top posting along with some >snipping< works great. Many, or should I only say, I, never scroll to the bottom to see if there is a message or not. Guess it is my loss, but then ........ Guest guest
i prefer top posting. i'm using disability speach software and if the messages aren't at the top it's just too much hard work to sort out the relevant bits to read. Guest guest
I must say that's often true for me too -- if I see heaps of previous posts, I often won't bother to scroll down to see what the new post is. I have way too many emails to go through to do that for every one.Anna -------- To: Re: Re: posting conventions19/11/2008 08:00 Top posting along with some >snipping< works great. Guest guest
How about deleting the previous posts if there's no good reason to repeat them? Rich (like this!)
Guest guest
> How about deleting the previous posts if there's no good reason to repeat them? Yes! Yes! A thousand times YES! Please, everyone, whether you top post or bottom post PLEASE delete all the extra " stuff " that isn't necessary. Remember, people on digest see *everything* repeated over and over and over again and have to scroll until their fingers bleed if you retain the entire previous 1, 2, 5 posts in a one-line reply. And believe it or not, there are still many places in the world where people still have limited-sized in-boxes, pay per-minute for Internet usage, or are on slow dial-up connections, and all those repeated messages take up precious in-box space and costs money to download.
