Guest guest
It is cloudy and chilly today here in Central Texas. Yesterday was gorgeous! Just as long as it doesn't rain, I'll be happy...Trying to explain why we can't trick or treat to a four year old boy would be impossible and sad. Guest guest
Bill wMilmoe Monday, June 20, 2005 9:06 AM To: azscott72; [Raw Food] Pudding Scott: A quasi natural hygiene pudding is just banana's and what ever flavoring you want. In this case durian. Please make sure the banana's are ripe (brown spots on skin). If you wanta harder pudding add psyllium seed. If you add psyllium you must clean the blender or food processor quickly as it can set up hard as concrete! Good luck. Bill ______ In spite of its unexplainable (to me, anyway) popularity, I strongly encourage everyone not to eat psyllium seeds. What happens on the blender when you don't clean it quickly also happens in a glass filled with water, and in a matter of seconds. It becomes so thick you cannot stir it. And the same happens in our gut, clog city, roto-router time! Best, Elchanan PS The rest of the recipe is great. Try banana and some raw organic carob powder (if you can find any). I just learned today that Whole Foods is working on bringing in raw organic carob powder as a regular product (assuming that the person speaking to the person speaking to me was correct :) -- ------------------------ [ SECURITY NOTICE ] ------------------------ rawfood . Guest guest
There is a product from Mori-Nu (sp?) that uses silken tofu and water in the blender. It makes a really good pudding. It comes in Chocolate, Vanilla and Lemon. My family loves the chocolate! Guest guest
There is a great soy milk pudding recipe in the cookbook " Simply Vegan " ...it is basically a cooked cornstarch pudding. If your pudding isn't thickening properly....perhaps add some more cornstarch (also the cooking activates the cornstarch...most of the commercial pudding mixes I've seen are basic cornstarch puddings. (I haven't tried the no-cook kind though). Melanie. Guest guest
Has anyone ever tried making pudding using arrowroot? I have tried and from my understanding, arrowroot can be substituted for cornstarch without making any adjustments, but I haven't had much success yet. Guest guest
I remember reading something like that in The Cookbook for People who Love Animals(?) ages ago. If I can find the book I'll look it up. -Lisa admartin <admartin wrote: Has anyone ever tried making pudding using arrowroot? Guest guest
I found mine (yay!!) and I'll be happy to post it sometime tonight. But, I've really got to say, it's a good cookbook, and certainly worth buying... It's called The Cookbook for People Who Love Animals and it's printed by Gentle World Inc. , Lisa <starfirefive> wrote: > I remember reading something like that in The Cookbook for People who Love Animals(?) ages ago.
