Guest guest
I'm back on SparkPeople, keeping track of my food, which for me gives a jump-start to being more conscious of what I eat. Is anyone else on SP? Anyway, it helped me do 100% fatfree vegan eating yesterday, and I've been having a lot of trouble doing that lately. I feel optimistic about today, as well. I definitely need to go shopping, though, because when I'm doing this kind of eating, I plow through all the veggies and fruits in the place. :-) Yesterday's dinner was quinoa with urad dal (you can use any lentil instead; you can see what urad dal by looking where it says " urad dal, split " at http://www.foodsubs.com/Lentils.html ). Urad Dal 1 cup urad dal 5-6 cups water 2 tsp. curry powder 1 tsp. ground coriander 1 tsp. fresh grated ginger 1/2 tsp. garlic 1/2 tsp. salt juice of 1 lemon Bring everything except the lemon juice to a boil. Turn down the heat and simmer until the beans are tender (about 40 minutes, in my experience, but it will vary). Add hot water if the beans get too dry. When they're the right tenderness, add the lemon juice and serve. -- 42 Magazine, celebrating life with meaning. http://42magazine.com

I'm on the first one. Also the McDougall Plans one, and a couple others. The McDougall one is low-traffic, but a good resource. (For anyone who cares, I'm serene-vannoy on SP.)
