Hi All

Watching McDougall DVD this am and Mary recommended a non stick pan by a company

called BERNDES. Found them online on amazon, but they are made of aluminum

alloy. While non stick I thought I recall John McDougall saying DO NOT use

aluminum?

Do you have other non stick, no aluminum pans you recommend? Thoughts about the

Berndes?

Thanks

Hi Tom,This blog post (http://bit.ly/dmQsh) by Bryanna Clark Grogan talks about the Berndes cookware, as well as the Swiss Diamond, another type of cookware that needs no oil of any sort. (Scroll down past the recipe and the COOKING TIPS paragraph).Based on that post, I got a Swiss Diamond one and TOTALLY love it!! Absolutely NOTHING sticks. I've made Susan Voisin's Vegan Omelette for One (http://bit.ly/1VjeNA) in it, with absolutely no greasing, PAM spray or anything, and the omelette cooks beautifully, and slides right out!!Brenda--- On Thu, 11/19/09, Tom

Try and get nonstick pans without PTFE (teflon) as they can give off harmful

vapors when heated, and I think have other issues in food - the Green Pan,

available at Target, and also online and also in Canada, is ceramic based - and

no, I'm not affiliated. I got rid of my teflon years ago when I got birds

(overheated Teflon is fatal to birds), and just got a Green Pan last month - it

really helps with fatfree cooking.
