Guest guest
-- This is an adaptation of a wonderful old Seventh Day Adventistrecipe. ( " Sister Shorter's Chee Sauce " , if I am not mistaken). If you want to find more great vegan recipes, look at some of the older (might be out-of-print) Seventh Day Adventist cookbooks. There are also current Adventist websites where you can find wonderful vegan recipes. You can always find ways to reduce fat content, if you wish. We are not S.D.A., but attended many of their cooking and health classes several years ago, and we thought they were terrific. Guest guest
Dear Martha:Thank you. You might consider collecting and posting SDA-origin vegan recipes to any or all of the Christian vegetarian (and vegan) e-mail discussion lists. I'm confident that few of the listmembers appreciate just how DEEP and historical are the cultural contributions of American SDAs to vegan and vegetarian cuisine (particularly with the meat analogs, the home-based 'off the grid' mindset that some maintained, and the development of robust 'natural remedies'. I was Adventist for many years, and I still have a copy of Ten Talents, one of the real classics of Adventist cookbooks. I am pretty sure it's still in print.
