Guest guest
Interesting, Tommie. Because if I just go to your name in the original message, right click, a box comes up and " properties " is the last choice. Click and there's your address. Maybe it's just Outlook Express works like that. Maybe? Shari
Guest guest
Mac's mail program works that way. Also, it may depend on how you have your preferences set in your mail program and whether you are using webmail. Don't know if it works for people who use webmail. Guest guest
I think I may have figured out the difference. I don't answer via e- mail. I do it online. Guest guest
Hello Shari: This is what I got when I followed your instructions http://profiles./jerushy1944 You say maybe it is *just* Outlook Express. Then, would you mind sharing what program that you are using that gives her email? When I went to her profile, it said " email private " Thanks Margaret rawfood , " SV " <shavig wrote: > > Interesting, Tommie. Guest guest
That's fine, Tommie, but sometimes, some people might do better to reply privately, rather than on-line. I am sure you have seen messages on the list that would have been better sent privately. Margaret rawfood , " Tommie " <jerushy wrote: > > I think I may have figured out the difference. Guest guest
I understand what you're saying but does have a " private message " feature? Or is it only possible with e-mail? I could not find it following your instructions. Maybe I am slow or something, but I would like to understand. can you tell me again, and then tell me what " address " you are looking at as an email address? I may not be understanding something. Guest guest
Okay, here's what I see when I hit " REPLY " on any message I get from this group: - " Margaret Gamez " <mgamez1 <rawfood > Saturday, May 13, 2006 7:55 PM [Raw Food] Re: email As you can see your EMAIL address is visible. HOWEVER, BEFORE I hit " reply " on the same message I can go to YOUR name in the " from " area of the message. There I see " Margaret Gamez " and that is all. If I RIGHT CLICK on Margaret Gamez, I see a small box with the options: Add to Address Book Find Cut Copy Paste Properties (and it is the only one that is bold in the box) Now if I click on " properties " it will give me another box that is used to add you to my address book and there it will show: Margaret Gamez mgamez1 Don't know how else to explain it to you. Just try right clicking on my SV and see what happens. Dunno, maybe it's because I use Outlook Express and always have. Shari
Guest guest
I use Microsoft Outlook (not Express), and I just double click to open the email and then I can see the address at the top *before* I hit reply. It doesn't show addresses after I hit reply, as you can see below. I'm not sure if that helps you all any, but I thought I'd offer the information. Guest guest
I can see everyone's address on the " digest " e-mail that's sent out in groups of 25. All I'd have to do is click on one and it would open a new message for me to compose. Guest guest
from a lot of the responses, I am beginning to think that few, if any, understood my plight. It is one thing to reply to the entire list, and it is quite another to reply to one member only. There are times when I would deem it to be more proper to direct my comments solely to the person who has written the message, rather than to clog the list with " Yes, Joan! I so know how you feel! " or whatever. The reason that we have so many off-topic messages about email is one example of what can go wrong if a person has made her or his email unavailable. Of course, that is the right of the individual.... but, again, it does make it difficult to send a private message to the individual, alone. Any suggestions? Sometimes, dislikes gmail people. Sometimes, dislikes digest people. I'd guess it's one or the other of these, so you might try getting off digest for a while and see if that works; if not, you might try subscribing from a different email address. Guest guest
> For some reason I have not received the daily messages since Dec 22nd. Any suggestions? Check your spam folder on the Gmail web site, too - sometimes messages wind up in there. I know my Prodigy/ addresses do that sometimes. I checked your address and it's not in Bounce or auto-responder status so it has to be something else. Google mail is funny - you have to configure it just right or you don't get any messages that you yourself sent as Google feels it's redundant - but since Barb has *been* getting email through that address in the past she had it set right already. I'd bet it's the spam filter. Sue in NJ
