Guest guest
They may say it is a trace amount and negligible, but being someone who reacts to it, cutting it out of my diet made a huge difference in how I was feeling. It is definitely enough to have a reaction to. While it is not MSG directly added and is a byproduct of how they make it, it is still very much MSG, and is not in all tomato sauce, tomatoes and mushrooms. There is naturally occuring MSG that is in the product (same as there is in tomato sauce, tomatoes and mushrooms). It is a naturally occuring byproduct I was told my the rep from Braggs. It is only a trace amount and negligible.
Guest guest
Yep. MSG (mono-sodium glutamate) is the sodium salt of a naturally occurring (and non-essential) amino acid called glutamic acid or glutamine. Glutamic acid is clearly listed on the side of the Bragg's Aminos bottle. Any product that contains glutamine/glutamic acid will likely have MSG in it. Other " hidden " sources of MSG include hydrolyzed vegetable protein or protein isolate products and hydrolyzed or autolyzed yeast extracts. (As I understand it, Braggs Aminos are made by acid hydrolysis, which is the same digestion process that occurs in our stomachs.) Kombu is a source of MSG as well. , " Tom Fronczak, LICSW " <TJFronczak wrote: > > Just called Braggs. Guest guest
As I have been trying to restrict my sodium due to hypertension, I was using Bragg's as a substitute! And I have always had headaches from MSG, nitrites, and nitrates. Back to homemade herbal seasonings.... Dorothy in N. FL. - threefatesfiber Yep.
