Peanut Butter Addiction

Seriously, I have a problem with this particular food. And if I'm not eating

that, it's walnuts or almonds.

I decided yesterday that I had to go off all three " cold turkey " so to speak.

If it weren't for those, I'd be pretty much low-fat vegan. I've always liked

peanut butter. But since giving up things like eggs and cheese, the peanut

butter thing got worse.

So today begins day 2 " on the wagon " .

I know what you mean... Good luck, I Am the President of that club.

I think Wikipedia will have my face under the heading of "Peanut Butter

and all other things nuts "Addict""

;-)

Let us know how you are doing. I plan on going cold turkey once I

finish the two (2) pounds just purchased yesterday.. thought I needed

something to get me through the snow storm this week! LOL excuses,

excuses, excuses... where is the 12-step program for this!

I started eating a lot of chocolate when I stopped eating cheese! I think it was an easy way of getting the rich satisfaction of cheese. And then I gradually cut down on the amount of choc...!On 26/02/2010, at 4:45 AM, daffy_kitty5 wrote:Seriously, I have a problem with this particular food. Have you tried any of the low fat peanut butter powders?

Allegedly you mix it with water and then it fluffs up, not exactly the same

taste but could be really good when mixed into thai dishes.

When I started cutting down on fat, I switched to PB2. It is powdered peanut butter that has 85% less fat than reg. PB. You reconstitute it with water or mix it directly with whatever you are using (jelly, honey, etc) it contains peanuts, salt and sugar. They have chocolate flavor too. Doesn't have same mouth feel as reg PB but when I was looking for a substitute it helped to have around.MaryTSent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile Alice Leonard <aliceFri, 26 Feb 2010 07:10:30 +1300Re: Peanut Butter AddictionI started eating a lot of chocolate when I stopped eating cheese! I think company is Bell plantation. If you Google PB2 peanut butter powder it will come up. They list the stores that carry it and also sell on their website. I found it at a local store.MarySent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile erin riley <rileysopranoThu, 25 Feb 2010 15:42:51 -0800 (PST)Re: Peanut Butter AddictionSounds great for baking and stews... where can you get it? It's funny because I just spotted PB2 in the grocery store (organic section) the other day! I had no idea this stuff existed. I bought some and tried it out. I think it is good. Here is a website for more into on it:

Hello, my name is Sue and I'm a compulsive peanut butter eater.

Count me in as another one. I tried to switch to " Better 'N Peanut

Butter " spread, which I think was soybeans, but it was so blah and

un-peanut-like my husband finished the jar on his cookies. I then tried

the lower-fat ones of the big brands, like Jif, but they were way too

sweet. Smucker's Natural PB lower fat was not too bad. I did the Mary

McDougall trick of pouring off the oil that settled on top and let it

warm up to room temperature before using a spoonful in my morning

oatmeal, but that small teaspoonful started growing until by the end of

the jar I was using almost 2 tablespoons full. ACK!

No more! When that jar was finished I told my family that there will be

no more peanut butter in this house. If my (adult) son wanted any he

could buy it himself and keep it in his room. Although we all love

recipes that use peanut butter sauce, I'm not making any in the near

future.

It's the only way.

who also can't allow cashew or almond butter in the house

I'm not sure if I read this somewhere or just tried it one day, but I mix my nut

butter of choice half and half with applesauce. I still get the nut flavor but i

get twice as much yumminess for the same 'price'. It becomes a dip rather than a

spread but is still dynamite on fruit.

Hi Sue. I've tried the soy butter too. No like. I do like cashews and cashew

butter too. Can't have that around.

I think when my college kid comes home, she'll have to keep the peanut butter in

her room if she wants any. Hubby and son rarely eat it, if ever.
