Guest guest
Copied straight from my Vita-Mix booklet: Add 1 1/2 c. warm (110 degree F) water and a couple drops of liquid dishwashing detergent to the blending container. Snap or push the complete 2-part lid into locked position. Run the machine on HIGH speed for 30 to 60 seconds. Turn the machine off, rinse and drain the container. That's it! There are further instructions for sanitizing it occasionally too.Marthamaureen smith <maureensgardengrotto Sent: Wed, March 3, 2010 3:35:12 PM vitamix cleaning Hi everyone, Please share how to clean the container of the vitamix. Guest guest
I just wanted to add that if you've used anything oily or sticky (like flax seeds), you need to use a cloth, sponge, or brush to clean the " walls " of the blender. My husband was following the " fill, whirl, and rinse " instructions until I found pieces of flaxseeds and smears of hummus still on the inside of the Vitamix. Whirling with hot water and soap cleans the blades and underneath them but doesn't substitute for wiping the inside of the container by hand. Guest guest
My blender container has more like stains or calcium deposits. I have soaked it in vinegar many times and once even with bleach long ago. Nothing seems to get these stains off, even scrubbing will not remove them. I have blended blueberries, strawberries and spinach that have caused this unclean look of my blender container. Has anybody else had this problem? If so, have you been able to clean it effectively? Thank you. Guest guest
Put in a little dishwashing liquid, fill three-quarters of the way with hot water, and run on High for 30 seconds. Then simply rinse. Dena - maureen smith Wednesday, March 03, 2010 1:35 PM vitamix cleaning Hi everyone, Please share how to clean the container of the vitamix. Yes, I have a similar problem. Mine pitcher has streaky red stains, which I'm guessing is a result of blending tomatoes. Nothing I've tried has gotten it out, so the pitcher always looks " dirty " even when freshly washed. -MEC
