Guest guest
I would like to buy one of these three books: Vegan fire and spice (http://www.amazon.com/Indian-Vegan-Kitchen-Healthy-Homestyle/dp/0399535306), The asian vegan kitchen (http://www.amazon.com/Asian-Vegan-Kitchen-Authentic-Appetizing/dp/477003069X) or Indian vegan kitchen (http://www.amazon.com/Indian-Vegan-Kitchen-Healthy-Homestyle/dp/0399535306), but I am not sure which one to choose... Guest guest
I have Vegan Fire and Spice and I love it! My husband says it is his favorite cookbook of all the books I have. I haven't seen/read the other two you mentioned, so I can't say anything about those. But I am very happy with Vegan Fire and Spice. It is very flavorful, not just hot. I have left out the oils it calls for and they come out just fine.~VictoriaCaterina Zibordi <caterina.zibordi Sent: Fri, April 16, 2010 11:50:35 AM books suggestions I would like to buy one of these three books: Vegan fire and spice (http://www.amazon. com/Indian- Vegan-Kitchen- Healthy-Homestyl e/dp/0399535306), The asian vegan kitchen (http://www.amazon. com/Asian- Vegan-Kitchen- Authentic- Appetizing/ dp/477003069X) or Indian vegan kitchen (http://www.amazon. com/Indian- Vegan-Kitchen- Healthy-Homestyl e/dp/0399535306), but I am not sure which one to choose... Guest guest
Is one missing – I see one and three are the same – so both of them look so good – I think I shall purchase them so I really wonder what one I am missing. Guest guest
I love Vegan Fire & Spice just leave out the small amounts of oil and the recipes work great. The Asian Vegan Kitchen was not as good. Either too much oil, too many strange ingredients, or too difficult. I haven't seen the Indian cookbook yet but want to. Guest guest
I wish to purchase those 3 books but only if they have real photos of the dishes or at least most of them and in color. I only like cookbooks with color photos so please answer and let me know- Amazon has all three but nowhere does it say if there are photos. Thanks, ElaineCaterina Zibordi <caterina.zibordi Sent: Fri, April 16, 2010 2:50:35 PM books suggestions I would like to buy one of these three books: Vegan fire and spice (http://www.amazon. com/Indian- Vegan-Kitchen- Healthy-Homestyl e/dp/0399535306), The asian vegan kitchen (http://www.amazon. com/Asian- Vegan-Kitchen- Authentic- Appetizing/ dp/477003069X) or Indian vegan kitchen (http://www.amazon. com/Indian- Vegan-Kitchen- Healthy-Homestyl e/dp/0399535306), but I am not sure which one to choose... Guest guest
Vegan Fire and Spice has no pictures, but I don't think you should let that deter you from getting the book. Guest guest
The best thing to deal with pepper burns, I think, is starch. Dip your hands in flour. Vinegar might help. I don't know what oil does, but water makes it worse. The principal for surface pepper burns would be the same as with eating peppers. =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~(my signature): From Maida Please sign the petition to allow pets, link at upper left, http://www.petsincondos.org While there, to see our PSA
Guest guest
I ended up purchasing two – The Indian Vegan Kitchen and the Vegan Fire & Spice, as the Amazon reviews led me to believe I probably had similar Asian recipes. There are no real pictures in either book. My favorite for new ideas is the Vegan Fire & Spice, although the other is a very close second. I like the explanations on combining the spices such as how to make Garam Masala and Tamarind Sauce. I am inspired by both books.
