Guest guest
Hi Carrie, Yes, That puree is made of lentils and called Dal. This is my favourite recipe, out of all that I have tried. I'm looking for my chapati recipe, let me know if you'd like that too. Enjoy! Tracey Dal Master Recipe (Gala Hua Dal) 1 1/2 cups yellow lentils, or red lentils, or yellow split peas, or yellow mung beans 1/4 cups turmeric Put lentils, peas, or beans clean and wash thoroughly in several changes of water. Put lentils, peas, or beans in a deep pot along with the turmeric and 4 1/2 cups water; bring to a boil. Stir often to make sure they don't lump together. Cook over medium heat, partially covered, for 40 minutes (25 minutes for red lentils, and mung beans). Cover, reduce heat , and continue cooking foran additional 20- 25 minutes (10 minutes for red lentils and mung beans) or until soft. Turn off heat and measure the puree. There should be 4 1/2 cups puree; if not add water to bring it up to the above quantity. or a more ground puree, beat with a whisk or hand blender for 3-5 minutes. Can be kept refrigerated for up to three days.

Guest guest
Nutritional yeast is an ingredient in recipes. Why take it as a supplement when it is a delicious flavoring. Use Red Star or other good tasting nutritional yeast. It should taste good - not have a nasty aftertaste that comes in some brands. If you go to the Files on the group web page, then to Recipes, then Fakes, you will find some great recipes for vegan un-cheeses made with nutritional yeast. My favorite recipe by Joanne Stepaniak is Chick Peas a la King - also made with nutritional yeast. Is that in our files, Pat? =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~(my signature): From Maida Please sign the petition to allow pets, link at upper left, http://www.petsincondos.org <http://www.petsincondos.org/> While there, to see our PSA logoEW
Guest guest
Not sure what happened to the previous message that I posted. Anyway, do you eat tofu that is uncooked? Maybe crumble and make a salad with it as I saw in a video on this vegan site. http://www.chooseveg.com/vegan-recipes.asp Do you have any digestion problems if you eat uncooked tofu? Thanks, Cher
