Guess I'm behind the times. Once again, Gov. Schwarzenegger is trying to "save the state of CA money" by drastically reducing the holding period for shelter dogs/cats from 6 days to 3 days. Abominable!

** DROP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND CALL -- AND WRITE -- NOW!! **

CONTACT Governor Schwarzenegger:

E-mail: http://gov.ca.gov/interact#email ---> I chose "animal issues/concerns" from dropdown menu, then checked "con" when commenting

Phone: 916-445-2841 ---> I picked "comment on legislation" in menu and was on hold for 5 mins., but it was worth it

Punishing the innocent is NO solution. Doesn't even get to the roots of the pet overpop problem. Just adds to the BETRAYAL dogs/cats already face by irresponsible humans and a disposable society.

The solutions are, among many:

1) Passing The Pet Responsibility Act, which has passed the Senate as S.B. 250 and will go to the Assembly next: http://www.yesonsb250.com/sb250-home.php ---> Make sure you read the stats and look at the posters, and keep checking back and/or join their e-mail list for updates

2) Stopping pets stores, puppymills, and backyard breeders.
