Guest guest
Not a humor...it is true. It went up to $3 here yesterday, too. [i live in Grants Pass,OR] My dh and i are going to get a biodeisel conversion kit this summer and start making our own heating fuel from restaurant waste oil for next winter. Our house has an oil burning furnace which we refused to run this last winter; we heated with only our wood stove. It didn't work well for keeping the whole house warm, but it was pleasant in our main living areas. Anyway, things are getting out of hand with this oil industry. Time to start protesting! ~ pt ~ You have only to wish it and you can have a world without hunger, disease, cancer and toil - anything you wish, wish anything and it can be done. Guest guest
monday morning when i took my son to school, one of the stations had gas for $2.89 a gallon. that afternoon, same station, the price was $3.29! it's ridiculous! i saw a story on the local d.c. news that pawn shops are hoppin' because people are having to sell things to buy gas! meanwhile, oil companies are making record profits...billions and billions of dollars each quarter. makes me sick. i like your idea of making biodisel, pt. not only is that a little form of protest against the oil cos., it's also better for the environment. kudos! susie --- ~ PT ~ <patchouli_troll wrote: > Not a humor...it is true. I'm live on the north coast of California. Grants Pass, eh? Small world! My sister lives there with my favorite nephew, and my parents are buying a house there as well to be closer to their favorite grandson! Guest guest
Are you going to try to convert your cars too? How complicated is this heating project conversion going to be? Things got out of hand a long time ago with the oil companies...the Bushies are not helping it at all...they think we are all very stupid obedient little trolls. Food prices are going to rocket along with all other commodities. We will be forced into buying locally (a good thing). I am going full tilt on converting the entire .425 acres here using permaculture and organic ideas and maybe that will give me some relief. I was told yesterday that Eugene is a perfect place for growing kale year around. Yippee! But I just know that celery wouldn't work in the least! linda " ~ PT ~ " <patchouli_troll My dh and i are going to get a biodeisel conversion kit this summer and start making our own heating fuel from restaurant waste oil for next winter. Guest guest
No, i am not planning to convert our car. i have a good car right now that gets excellent gas mileage, and it would be a pain to convert. My dh uses his motorcycle for his errands; we use that as much as possible during the summer since it is a fun way to get around... uses very little gas. Our furnace is set up currently to burn deisel fuel oil, so it won't need any adjustments. We just have to buy a kit to make the oil useable. Gonna be messy, but worth the trouble i think. There are some local places listed in the paper that sell the kits pretty reasonably. ~ pt ~ A good scare is worth more than good advice. ~ Horace (65-8 BC) ~~~*~~~*~~~> , " linda " <lindai81 wrote: > > Are you going to try to convert your cars too?
