I have some Vegetarian Grilling books so I can check it out but what does everyone else do? Smart Dogs, Gardenburgers, that is all I can usually figure out. Oh maybe some corn on the cob? Guest guest Posted April 23, 2006 Report Share Posted April 23, 2006 Besides taking burgers, I also take veggie kabobs and a marinate...seeing the hosts forget about us at times we only bring enough for ourselfs or when corn on the cob is fresh we take a dozen corn. I have a trick with popscile sticks so the kids can eat them without burning their hands..and fruit tacos with whatever fruit is availible. Skewer marinated tofu, vegetables, potato salad, and now maybe that cracker recipe thingie. BBQ beans. Chips and dip and I am all set. Except for slapping hands that are trying to devour my food! Then I get asked to bring to the next bbq something that someone really liked. Happens at potlucks too. I need to stop that though! Then i make sure i bring a salad that can serve everyone, but can also be enough to keep me happy as a main dish if there is nothing else i can eat... pasta salads are good for this. i have also brought along my own veggie burgers or veggie brats, but once i had trouble with the host tossing them right on the grill after he had cooked meat without putting down any foil or cleaning the grill.
