Guest guest
I, too, have a fetish for bowls. I love them all. I found some at a thrift store for a quarter each. I would have paid way more, but never look a gift horse in the mouth. There were three of them, but there are three of us so it worked out beautifully. We will have to build me shelves just for the bowls. I need a Buddhist bowl though, one that contains all I am going to eat. It is difficult to find at a reasonable cost, one that is beautiful and makes me stop and feel the food. However, I think it is the search for that perfect bowl that is what makes the idea of it so great. linda " Paula K Ward " <paulakward But I'm a bowl person. Guest guest
What info. did I miss out on in this thread! I'll eat just about anything out of a bowl. I'm not a big plate person. Everything works better in a bowl...looks better in a bowl....tastes better in a bowl. They take up less room and have their own splatter guard sides so that nothing may splash or flick out. Food slides right back to the center. On 5/2/06, linda <> wrote: > > I, too, have a fetish for bowls. I love them all. I found some at a thrift > store for a quarter each. Guest guest
Now you have tweaked my fetish for bowls once again and I have the feeling today I will have to search out another one and I was on the wagon! But your description has me drooling once again. Maybe today!!!!!!! Actually, I rarely use a plate although I use those little glass salad plates when I want a plate which isn't often. Bowls do it for me, but not because I need something to keep myself clean from slurping my food like you Shawn! <grinning> You do leave yourself so wide open so much of the time. hehe linda " subprong " <subprong > What info. did I miss out on in this thread! Guest guest
oh linda! how well you put that into words! Yes! there surely must be the perfect bowl out there! .....and the search is a lot of fun, isn't it? and even better when it's a bargain. I looked for several years for the little Chinese rice bowls and then found some really neat pottery ones-- 5 to a set, each a different color glaze and design. I love that they are all different---we use those quite a bit. I enjoyed the way they were packaged so much-- in a little wooden crate where they were stacked to show each of them off---, that I bought another set and just had it out on the counter awhile before giving them to my sister-in-law. I'm a nut -- I admit it! Paula On Tue, 2 May 2006 20:35:07 -0700 " linda " <lindai81 writes: > I need a Buddhist bowl though, one that contains all I am going to >eat. Guest guest
Hi Shawn, I agree about the bowls......far superior in every way! Maybe there is some kind of psychology behind all this? Someone near and dear to me used to insist I was raising the kids wrong when I served English peas in a bowl with a spoon as the eating utensil.....instead of on a plate with a fork. I can eat peas served on a plate with a fork when absolutely necessary, but I much prefer them out of a bowl with a spoon! And, yes, you're right---they even taste better out of a bowl! Funny, huh? Guest guest
Gee, thanks! <sarcastically said> LOL Now you have started me thinking that today would be a perfect day to go looking for a bowl and I have several places in mind to go. If I spend over budget, should I find one, you will get the bill. I was supposed to be gardening and you just had to go remind me of the fun it is to look for that " perfect " bowl both in looks and size. <grinning> linda " Paula K Ward " <paulakward > oh linda! how well you put that into words!
