Guest guest
Another bowl lover! A forester!!! Cool! Maybe sometime you could do an OT post and describe what it is that you do and how you came to be doing it? And how BC manages its forests in contrast to us. You must be mighty cold up there! I have spent a lot of time in B.C. but not that far north though. (lived on Whidbey Island only an hour from the border). And then possibly sometime you could teach us how to use chopsticks...it is food related. I have never figured that out, but daughter looks like a pro...however, she hasn't been able to teach me and thinks I am hopeless. LOL linda " Kathy H. " <treegrrl29 1. Name? Kathleen....sometimes post-er but mainly a reader/lurker, who loves this group 2. Location? Vanderhoof! A wee forestry community in northern British Columbia, Canada. I'm a forester by profession And just for fun: 3. What color are your plates ~ china pattern? Unfortunately, plain white, very solid, everyday " china " which came with my husband via his mother. We eloped and never asked for, nor really received, any wedding gifts like china, bedding, appliances, or whatever it is that newlyweds require. However, my Italian MIL is very practical about her own kitchen goods and she is always collecting stuff from garage sales...then foisting it onto us. My goal this year is buy locally made, preferably well crafted, multi-coloured plates, bowls, mugs, etc so that my hubby and I finally have dishware that fits *us*, not the MIL. ;-) Oddly enough, I am also a 'bowl' user and *never* use my husband's china (I always think of it as 'his', not 'mine'!). I bought myself a couple of big, cheap Chinese bowls - the kind with the blue fish painted on - and I use those for *everything*...with chopsticks, naturally. I like to be completely opposite to the Italian family I married into, just because I like to be different! *lol* Good role call, BTW ----------------------------- And I'm flying high, And I'm a wheeling gull... Guest guest
ROFL! Rookie chopsticks and they actually look like something I could learn to use. That is a hoot. And only $3 which I could handle. I would starve to death if forced to use the real thing. But I would learn patience. linda " Angela " <angelaamy2001 > --- linda <lindai81 wrote: > > > Another bowl lover! A forester!!! Cool! I haven't got much time this morning to write a long post, since I have to leave soon to do an 8K 'Fun Run'. But I will certainly do my best later to explain what I do and how I got here. I can even work in a food topic and/or recipes to keep it on-topic (sort of). Like, what does a vegetarian forester eat for lunch in the woods? --- Linda wrote: > > ROFL! Cool - chopsticks with training wheels! *lol* Linda, you may be better off starting with something like this, 'cos I can only imagine how difficult it will be to try to explain in words how to use regular chopsticks. You may never want to try them again. Cheers, Kathleen ----------------------------- And I'm flying high, And I'm a wheeling gull...
