Guest guest
You should be able to find it right with the other vinegars in the store, or it might be over by the condiments section; sometimes store are arranged differently. It is a popular vinegar in the UK... sprinkled on the fish & chips. i just love it on chips! There are different brands, but i don't think there are different types; not sure what you mean, but all the different brands i have tried do have a certain uniformity ~ malt vinegar is malt vinegar. ~ pt ~ Nature is the greatest teacher on the Earth. Nature produces many different plants, animals, trees, rocks, birds, insects and weather patterns. Nature designed all these various things to grow and multiply while at the same time live in harmony with each other. We can learn a lot of we observe and study Nature's system of harmony and balance. Today, go sit on a rock and quietly observe and ask to be shown the lessons. ~ Elder's Meditation [ whitebison.org ] ~~~*~~~*~~~> , " linda " <lindai81 wrote: > > Okay, I have heard of malt vinegar, but never bought it or seen it actually > probably because I didn't know what to use it for...is it in the vinegar > section and are there different types? Guest guest
Good golly molly, go back to bed, it is too early. I should be thinking about malt vinegar before 7 am? You are a hard task master! Crack that whip woman! The first time I heard the term " chips " was back on the east coast and I didn't have a clue as to what they were. I do remember seeing vinegar on all of the tables in restaurants though. I had never seen that either, they didn't have that out here back then although now it is way more common. So, that must be malt vinegar? I thought that your description of what malt vinegar is or tastes like so enlightening, " malt vinegar is malt vinegar. " Gee, thanks! <grinning> linda " Whatever you do will be insignificant and it is very important that you do it. Guest guest
You didn't ask me what it tastes like, silly! *lol* You only asked me if there were different kinds. It has a very mild vinegar flavor; not overly sour like wine or cider vinegars... more malt-like, hence the name. You know what it really reminds me of? A cross between a good brown beer and vinegar, but don't worry it isn't fizzy. Perfect for sprinkling on mock crab cakes, breaded fried tofu " fish sticks " , those breaded Quorn cutlets, boiled dinner and chips. ~ pt ~ In the long run we get no more than we have been willing to risk giving. ~ Sheldon Kopp ~~~*~~~*~~~> , " linda " <lindai81 wrote: I thought that your description of what malt > vinegar is or tastes like so enlightening, " malt vinegar is malt vinegar.
