Guest guest
i bought a tube of the GimmeLean fat-free, cholesterol-free veggie sausage that comes in the 14 oz. tubes by lightlife. Just wondering if any of you have enjoyed this product and what some of your tried and true favorite ways of preparing it are? Thanks. ~ pt ~ Happiness walks on busy feet. ~ Kittie Turmell
Guest guest
I use it any number of ways, but it is great fried up and put on top of pizza. I roast up veggies, make a sauce and skip the cheese...I get dough from Trader Joe's, corn meal style, and bake it with my toppings and it is delicious. I also use the sausage for any recipe I would have used before. In tacos or enchiladas. Fry it up and put it into my pasta sauce. Fry it up and add it too scrambled tofu...I use that Tofu Scrambler mix since I am lazy. I prefer the sausage version over the crumbles (hamburger) since it is spicier with more flavor. Oh, yes, those Morning Star Quick Start not Chicken Strips are great, but I don't cook them quite as they suggestion. I heat the skillet up med high and sauté them till they are thawed, then cut them into chunks rather than leave them as strips and put them back into the pan and fry them until the outside is crispy...they say on the package just a few minutes, I usually cook mine about ten. Watch them though so they don't burn. But I use them in tacos, enchiladas and other casserole mixes like rice or even for some of my pasta recipes. I don't really care for the steak strips in the Quick Start though...I think they would need to be coated with crumbs to not have me tasting the gluten or what ever they are made with. linda " Whatever you do will be insignificant and it is very important that you do it. Guest guest
Hi: With the sausage flavor I usually just make sausage. With the other one I have made sloppy joes, loafs and burgers. gayle
